Kurt Angle Mark Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Chris Benoit suffered a partially torn bicep in the Smackdown match with Kurt Angle that aired last Thursday. He is not going to need surgery and isn't expected to miss any ring time at this point. credit: Dave Meltzer
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Whew! I almost shit myself when I read that title.
Guest Dangerous A Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 For once, I am for Benoit taking it easy in the ring. I don't want my current WWE fav to miss much, if any time.
Guest eiker_ir Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 at least is a minor injury, so it's ok
Guest Choken One Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Well...Shit...I was hoping it was serious...So I could laugh at TSM crying like he died or something.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I want him to be injured so Eddie could get his push. Benoit's pushes are all the same, and they always amount to nothing. The fans could care less about the guy. Rather, its his opponants that draw the heat. On the other hand, Eddie is always over and the fans always react to him. Why can't he just get a substantial push? Booo.

The heat was all from Angle. He never ever gets heat like that elsewhere. The fans hate Angle, and he almost defeated him. It was an absolutely great match, and the fans gave him credit for it. But that didn't parlay into anything, thus my feeling the crowd was just hating Angle so much they were cheering for Benoit. Benoit is back to square 1, no one cares.

They didn't JUST cheer him for almost beating Kurt. They gave him a Standing O after Angle had left ringside.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 They didn't JUST cheer him for almost beating Kurt. They gave him a Standing O after Angle had left ringside. Fair enough, but has any other city cheered him like that since? Has any city cheered for Benoit like that since he was in Edmonton last May? No. He simply isn't over enough. Everywhere else the fans are indifferent.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I've heard a lot of pro-Benoit chants over the last few months.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I've heard a lot of pro-Benoit chants over the last few months. Really? You must have been intensly concenttrating on the chants during his matches, because all I've seen he has been getting a mild reaction as best.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Well...Shit...I was hoping it was serious...So I could laugh at TSM crying like he died or something. I thought the same thing. I don't wish injury on any man but the pussy ass crying reactions on this board would have been worth a few good laughs.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I shall deliver Choken........... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *throws self off of bridge*
Guest NoCalMike Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Yah and also I'd say Benoit pushed that button to begin with by assuming the role, of "dissapointed in the hard tough fought loss" which segways into trying to get up in the ring being bashed and bruised. I mean what were the fans supposed to do, just sit there? I am sure if he would have left the ring as soon as the camera cut away, then the fans would not have cared or cheered as much, it SUCKS, but I think it is a reasonable observation of the typical WWE mark.
Guest Austin3164life Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Fair enough, but has any other city cheered him like that since? Has any city cheered for Benoit like that since he was in Edmonton last May? No. He simply isn't over enough. Everywhere else the fans are indifferent. If you don't think Benoit has become more over since his standing ovation, than Austin having fans chanting his name at WM XIII was pointless. When fans get up and give you a loud ovation like that, it means that you earned a huge amount of respect for putting on a hell of a performance, and you are remembered for it. So, thus, you are revered wherever else you go.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I hope that isn't directed towards me. I've done nothing to even come close to being banned.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 He has no grounds anyway.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Must...fight...urge...to...ban. Who you talking about Brian?? I think over the summer they could really do a 3-way feud between Brock, Benoit and Angle that could lead to Benoit getting the belt at Summerslam. They keep mentioning Benoit's desire to win the title so when he does win it- it MEANS something. Wishing injury on another guy just because you would get joy over people on a message board being upset is a pretty stupid thing to say
Guest Olympic Slam Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Benoit is way over. The crowd went batshit when he made Albert tap on Smackdown. No canned heat needed.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Canned heat it was. I was there live at Smackdown. Rikishi got around the same amount of heat Benoit did, which pissed me off. And guy, no matter how much you love Eddie Guerrero, wishing injury on ANYONE, even Kevin Nash or HHH (well maybe a couple exceptions could be made) is pretty downright disgusting. I think they're all doing a good job of where each wrestler should be at this point, no complaints.
Guest evilhomer Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Must...fight...urge...to...ban. I'm guessing that's a joke comment directed at CynicalHateMonger for daring to speak poorly of the TSM god. Ban him, ban him!!! Nobody is permitted to have a differing opinion here
