Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 17, 2002 We've already heard of how Stone Cold is not happy with the direction of the WWF. We've seen him wing it in his last few matches. Stone Cold-Scott Hall just doesn't feel like a main event. So who should Stone Cold be fighting instead? I personally think they should have had the big blowoff between Rock-Stone Cold (with Rock going over) while throwing the dinosaurs in a big 6 man or something. What do you guys think? Guest Report post Posted March 17, 2002 I think putting Austin with Hall is really the best they could do. Rock is the man in the WWF currently, and he should be facing Hogan. The only other heel that is near Austin's level is Angle, and they've fought numerous times already, and Austin faced Jericho already for the title. Rock/Austin would have been the proper match if the nWo were not hired. Personally, I feel it would have been best to make the main event a 6-way. Rock, Austin, HHH or Angle v. Hogan, Hall, Nash or X-Pac (assuming he would have joined the nWo by now, under the duress that Nash is the most horrible wrestler ever), or *Secret Partner*. Feh. Even with the options I mentioned, I think there's no way to cover up this WM sucking ass.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted March 17, 2002 Theoretically, since the NWO was supposed to *kill* the WWF, the ideal situation would have been either a six-man tag main event (preferably elimination), or a series of singles involving all the NWO members (and maybe a "mystery" new NWO member). In the latter of those, I'd have stuck Austin with Hogan. As it is now, I can't think of a suitable replacement for Hall...
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 17, 2002 If one positive thing could be said about this MAnia, it is that we really don't have a clue who is gonna win the matches. Do they do the smart thing and put Rock over or continue the stale NWO theme? All fingers point to Trips winning but do they swerve and let Jericho run with the belts until Backlash? RVD seems to be the only real lock but the WWF has done some stupid things before. Everything else is questionable which could be a good thing or just the result of poor angle building. Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 18, 2002 That's a good point, Goodhelmet. not knowing who's going to win is at least giving some interest to what will be probably pretty dull matches. Fingers crossed for Jericho retaining.
