Anybody here ever listen to Don and Mike? I suppose the students haven't since their on the afternoon "drive time", but anyone else?

Anyone listen to the adventures of Bart, Frida, Homo Joe, Dennis Murphy, Tom Gavin..etc etc???????????

And don't flame me about listening to a "pair of Stern want-a-be's" because Stern's style, and their own was originated by another shock jock during the 70's, who's name escapes me at the moment.

I used to listen to D&M all the time before they went to middays. I know they have since switched back to afternoon-drive but I just havent found myself listening as religously as I once did.

Even as a fan of Stern's since the days he worked in DC, Ive always had a problem with him basicly claiming he invented talk radio. It isnt exactly a hard formula to come up with. The hard part is being funny. I remember in the early 90's when I used to be able to listen to Stern in the morning, D&M in the afternoon, and Steve Dahl and Garry Meier overnights on the blowtorch 1000am signal from Chicago. Of those 3 shows, Dahl and Meier was the most creative, and often funniest of the three.

what city is the show based at? In the Year 2000 when I was in Dallas I listened to Stern in the morning, than Ron & Don at midday, than in the 5:00 drive home time slot it was alway Ross Martin.

Ron & Don was a short lived show, which last just over a year, so is it possible that the Don could be the same person? It was sad how the radio station fired the guys, one of them was going to do some week long charity bike race and was fired right in the middle of it! Then nearly every day Ross Martin would make bad jokes about how he feared for his job.

FM talk radio rant over.

They're not copying Stern.

Because Stern is so much better than them it's not even funny.

They're radio cancer. Or, as a friend of mine from New York City (if you want to hear a nice Don and Mike success story, go review the ratings books for their broadcasts there) likes to say: Don and Mike are radio AIDS.

They're just not nearly as funny or talented as groups such as Opie and Anthony, and they're nowhere even near the level of excellence as the show that follows them, Ron and Fez.

I say all of this as a Washington D.C. NATIVE. I've lived here all my life, and I can honestly say, they're absolutely AWFUL.

I listened to Don and Mike for years, every single day, untill the talk radio station in my area changed format. I wish someone would pick them up here again, because I miss listening to that show. I shit you not, I listened to them almost every time they were on.

I've tried to listen to them, but I just give up. I keep yelling at the radio in my Homer voice "Be more funny".

Please, somebody bring back O&A so we can get this show off the air.

Being in a conservitive Wisconsin City (Green Bay) Don and Mike is about as raunchy as we're gonna get.

We are lucky enough to get Coast to Coast AM, and Phil Henry though!!
