Undergoing his 27th comeback with the success of Chicago, what do you think are Gere's best and worst flicks. I'll chime in later as usual.

Let's see, he was apparently quite good in An Officer and a Gentleman as well as Chicago (haven't seen either), so those are probably his good ones.

Everything else I've seen him in has been a crappy movie, although not necessarily because of him...

A lot of his early work was very good, like American Gigolo and an Officer and a Gentleman. Oddly enough, he got both those part and later Pretty Woman when John Travolta turned them down.

A lot of his action films like No Mercy, Internal Affairs and the mentioned Jackyl are really bland and he comes off as stiff in them.

Sommersby is also a load of nonsensical crap, although I think he plays it off as best he can given the poor script and directing.

I've heard that both the Mothman Prophecies and Unfaithful are really good and is some of his best work in years, but I have yet to see either. So, if anyone has seen these two, chime in.

Yes Primal Fear is a great movie but it was all about Edward Norton breakout performance.

Primal Fear was an outstanding movie, although it hinged moreso on Ed Nortons debut acting role.

Neither Mothman Prophecies or Unfaithful were very good, in my opinion. Unfaithful was the worse of the two.

Officer and a Gentleman was probably his best.
