Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted February 15, 2003 I'm just wondering if anyone has picked up the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys. I picked up Donatello and Splinter for display purposes. Quite awesome. The figures are very close to the originals, even including the same weapons and accessories, only updated. By that, I mean no more all-brown, stuck together weapons. As it pertains to the classics, Don comes with a bo, an extra bo, and two ninja stars. Splinter comes with his SWORD-CANE~!, bow and arrow, and "extra" (read: unusable) arrows. Plus, we get some new stuff. Don comes with an axe and sword that can be attached to his bo. Splinter comes with a can of ooze. Not ooze you can touch, it's a gray can with a green sticker. It also appears that the turtles are more articulated. Don has nine points (head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and legs), and I'm sure the other Turtles do, too. And while we're at it, share some of your old memories. I mean, who didn't have Turtles growing up? I still vividly remember waking up one Christmas morning to find the floor COVERED with Turtle figure. I'm not kidding, there were at least twenty. AND the Technodrome playset. Guest tpww7 Report post Posted February 15, 2003 I think I had and still have at least one of every old school figure. And for most I have a second still mint in the package as I found a store with a shitload of them a few years back for about 99 cents each.
Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted February 16, 2003 Man, Turtle toys were the poo. I still have some of the origonal turtle figures in my room. To bad they're not unopened, but, in the end, they were too cool not to open.
Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted February 16, 2003 Side Note: In England, they're not called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They are called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. The term "ninja" was considered too violent for children, so they changed it.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted February 16, 2003 Yeah, aren't nunchuks banned overseas, too? I've heard of a lot of scenes featuring them being cut.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted February 16, 2003 I'm almost positive that nunchucks are banned outright in the U.K. to the point that movies aren't even allowed to display them. I'm not sure about other countries though.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted February 16, 2003 In the last season of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series (1994), Michaelangelo didn't use nunchuks, they replaced them with something else.
