Twiggy Ramirez joins Perfect Circle

I just saw this reported on the Australian music channel, Channel V, that ex-Marilyn Manson bassist, Twiggy Ramirez, has joined A Perfect Circle as the replacement for the bassist they lost to Zwan.

 

I'm diggin' it, Twiggy should be a fantastic asset, as not only does he rip it up on bass, but he's a talented song writer as well and has contributed to many of Marilyn Manson's tunes.

 

I realise this has been reported in the Zwan thread, however I created this just to get the views of everyone else since this is Perfect Circle related, and has nothing to do with Zwan.

It also looks like Danny Lohner of NIN touring fame is going to be stepping in at guitar, since the usual fellow is off with QOTSA these days. Should make for an interesting change of pace. They're in the studio now, so I wouldn't be surprised if we had a new album by year's end.

 

I like APC, buuuut...don't love them. Maynard's voice and some really crunchy soundscapes plus Paz on the violin hooked me, but quite a few songs on the album are forgettable. Even though I know Maynard didn't write the songs, it very often feels like Tool-lite to me. Good for one or two songs at a time, but I rarely make it through the whole album.

I agree. At times it just gets too much like Tool, and i cannot stand Tool, so I end up switching it off.

 

However, different band members bring different influences in, and hopefully they will be expressed in the next album, as you mentioned is in the works.
