I'm using WinXP. I already tried the networking setup wizard and it asks for my IP address or server name. I'm on Verizon DSL. Should I put my computer's IP address as the IP/server name?

Guest DrTom Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 You need either a hub/switch or (preferably) a router to properly share a broadband connection. The advantage to using the router is that it will take your Verizon IP address, allowing you to run PCs into it without their IPs ever being reported. Also, most routers have built-in hardware firewalls, definitely a good thing when you're on a constant connection.
