Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted February 17, 2003 Well, here is my rundown of what went down this weekend. No, I did not go to the friday night XPW show. I never go to friday shows, because there is no bus trip from New York City to them. Anyways, I was mad about the XPW show being canceled, but now that I find out that Philly was snowed in, and there were 5 deaths because of the snow, it may have been a wise choice. I knew that 3PW was running a bus trip literally two blocks away from XPW, so I called the 3PW guy and talked to him about it, and he said that if people had tickets for the XPW bus they could get on the 3PW bus trip for free. There were actually people at the XPW bus trip location, directing people to the 3PW one, it was a smart move by them. So, I went on that bus trip. The bus trip was kind of disorganized, and our stupid bus driver clipped a street sign outside of NYC, and the cops came, and we were delayed for about an hour. Onto the 3PW show: Because of the bus being late I missed a few matches, I missed: Prince Nana over Jeff Rocker Raven over Blue Meanie Rebel/Jason Knight but, from what i heard, the matches sucked, and the raven match was like 3 mins long. Kid Kash over Kid Kruel - Great fucking wrestling match here. Balls Mahoney and Nosawa over Da Hit Squad - Good brawl. Balls hit one of the guys with his chair and it was literally ripped in two. A bunch of guys I dont know - They fought, and it sucked, IMO, no one in the crowd seemed to care and they were blowing spots left and right. Low-Ki defeated Homicide - MOTN, great fucking stiff ass contest Gary Wolfe defeated Raven - I marked out for Raven but the match itslef wasnt that good. Terry Funk defeated Sabu - I marked out for Sabu, and the match was a classic brawl between the two, but it was way too short. Like only 6 mins. Notes: My camera died during the show so I didn't get many pics. The venue is awesome. it is set up for concerts and has a bar up top with a balcony and little bar tables and stools. nice set up. the seating was a little fucked tho, cause there were just some rows back, and a few bleachers which were tiny as hell in the way back. There was a camera hanging from the rafters and there were screens showing a birds eye view, thats cool. during terry funks speech at the end some people in the crowd lit up their lighters so i went on, and lit up my flaming wallet, and held it up in the back row. the security guard flipped out and yelled, "put that shit out!!" it was funny because after the show meanie came up and shook my hand and said "thanks for coming" and i showed him the wallet, and he was like, "thats awesome, hey i saw u during the show with that, i was all the way behind the curtain at the other side of the arena and i saw a big ass flame in the air." LOL Overall, it was a fun night for me and even though 3PW promised us that we would meet raven on the bus and get into the "no one under 21" meet and greet, and we didn't, got there late, and then waited by the front door for about 15 mins in the freezing cold, it was still fun. thats what i meant before about the bus trip being disorganized, i didnt get back home until 3 am. usually on the xpw bus trips they deliver on their promises, and get us back home at 1:30 at the LATEST. It was an ok show, with Kid Kash's match and Low-Kis being awesome. also funk vs sabu was good, but too short, and it was good to see raven in action again, even though the match kinda blew. it was slightly on par with the XPW show I went to last month, called aftermath. XPW aftermatch had more matches and better overall matches, but 3PW had low-ki's match and kash's match. If XPW and 3PW were running again, I would probably chose XPW, but it would depend on 3PW's card though. Oh, and for all you attendance people, I would say at least 700-800 people at the show. Meanine said it was 709 or something, i forget. but 3PW did draw well at least. and dont believe the low numbers, they arent true. It would be a hard choice between the two because the CZW show should have some great matches, but you could see Raven vs. The Sandman at JAPW's show. I would go to the CZW show. EMAXSAUN, did you ask anyone if the low attendance figure for XPW's last show was true, but I guess it was because it was another Friday show. I asked Some of the promoters on the bus, and they said that it was a low friday show + they didn't announce any matches on time. They said it was 200 MAX.
