Goldust, who is rumored to return to Raw with a new character, was actually inadvertently behind the idea for the new gimmick.

 

The gimmick is that Goldust will have mental problems and Tourette’s syndrome, acting randomly and strangely.

 

Apparently, Dustin actually does this as a joke on airplanes, often amusing other wrestlers on long travel dates. Then the WWE writers saw the act and decided to write it into the show.

Well, at least that means I don't have to be worried about Dustin being forced onto a bad gig in an attempt to bury him, and it may mean that the performance could be actually entertaining as long as you're not in the PC crowd.

 

Still has the potential to be stupid, though.

They are ditching the Goldust gimmick? I thought that they were simply adding the Tourette’s syndrome to the Goldust gimmick, not retiring it and starting from scratch with a new gimmick...

If you read it again, it says that Goldust will have mental problems. I dont think they are dropping the gimmick. Just adding to it. IMHO, i think its gonna be a very interesting addition.

Dustin has goos comic timing, so it could be funny for the first couple of shows until they go overkill, like every good idea they have. It's stupid, but as long as he's still goldust it'll be alright for a while. Maybe.

Benoit: <rolls eyes> "Yeah, whatever. I guess you can say that."
