Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I figured I would start this for all those who will be watching tonight. I am going with Zora as the winner, and as for the surprise, I have no idea. My guess is they offer Zora (or Sarah for that matter) the choice between Joe and 1 million dollars. Discuss.
Guest Choken One Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I will go with Sarah... Surprise...Joe gets to choose the girl or the Million dollars...or The Butler is an Millionaire or something...
Guest imajackoff? Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I heard the theory that after Evan comes clean, the winner will be offered a million bucks to turn him down. As for picking a winner, Ill say Sarah will win.
Guest RepoMan Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I'm gussing the winner will dump him, then they'll reveal that Fox would have given them $1 Million to stay togeather.
Guest RepoMan Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I can't belive Bringing Down the House would get made, and land Steve Martin none the less.
Guest godthedog Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 woo hoo! ZOOOOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
cawthon777 Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 What was the 'surprise twist'? That Zora was a former butch lesbian circus midget? Melissa should have won. And if not that, FOX should have at least posted her phone number on the screen earlier. I want some of that.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I think the surprise was that Sarah slobbed Joe's knob. At least that's what *I* thought her little pantomime was.
Guest godthedog Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 melissa is an annoying, horse-faced runt. the surprise was that after zora accepted evan's offer, fox gave them a million dollars anyway. pretty fucking lame as far as "surprise twists" go, but it was kind of cool to see them so happy. EDIT: i got that impression from sarah too.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Buy a small house and sack the rest away. Of course, they'll blow it all. To think, I missed the Jericho Mr. Perfect gum-slap for that.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I enjoyed it. How much does it suck that they weren't allowed to see each other the whole length of the series. I'll be interested to see what the talk shows have to say about this tonight and what they say next week on the reunion show. I'm glad he picked Zora. I HATED Mellisa and Sarah, when they were talking on the balcony tonight, it reminded me of the conversations I hear when I walk out my door into the world of spoiled trust fund babies every day. Good pick Joe, glad everything worked out.
Guest Retro Rob Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 FOX should not have given them a million dollars. The idea someone said earlier would have been a million times better. Having Zora choose Evan or $1,000,000 would have made for great TV.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I called Zora at the beginning. She's a teacher, and Evan probably thought she'd be more forgiving and except him for what he is.
Guest Downhome Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 They didn't NEED to give any money. He'll make tons after all of his offers he'll get now, her too.
Guest phoenixrising Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I'm surprised FOX actually went for the romantic ending and not for the completely classless twist (offer the girl $1 million to leave or nothing and choose Evan). I was pretty happy with the ending though. Especially after watching Melissa M. and Sarah sniping at Evan now that they know he doesn't have $50 million. Especially when it seems Sarah was very willing to do anything for that money (maybe that's what the 'slurp' was). After listening to those two I couldn't help but like the ending.
Guest NoCalMike Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I knew the whole show would cop-out and give them something to make it "worth it" in the end. I had a big debate with this at work with someone. I told him, if the girl is smart she should just accept him, because you know they are gonna get the millions somehow. Keep in mind this was before the series even started. Joe or the 1,000,000 would have been best, because then the table can possibly be turned on "Joe" Although in reality she could take BOTH, just not on the air. It isn't really fair of them to show the angry women that lost, because who is to say Zora wouldn't be doing the same thing had she not been picked, but hell it makes for good tv I guess. Zora did seem like a good choice though.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Meh, Sarah and Melissa lashing out at him is somewhat normal behavior. When someone rejects you, don't you do something somewhat similar? They were just filmed while doing it. Besides, you could tell Sarah and Melissa still liked him, even without the money. They're just rationalizing the loss.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Sarah and Melissa are better off for it. He's as charismatic as my left thumbnail.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Sarah and Melissa are better off without $500,000? Even if Zora and Evan don't last,I would guess she'd get to keep $500,000.
Guest LooseCannon Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I can not tell you people how unhappy I was with the ending. I feel like FOX has tricked me. I didn't sit through this, watching that submoronic cretin with simian features trick a bunch of unnattractive women who I didn't like anyway, just to watch a GODDAMNED happy ending. What fucking BULLSHIT! The premise of the show appealled to the negative and cynical aspects of the viewing public. We were all waiting for a good hearty chuckle at other people's emotions and their public embarassment. And then they swerve us with this horseshit??? I swear to GOD, I might never watch FOX again after this crap. I am IRATE.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I echo LC's statement. We were seriously being prepped for a girl castrating him on network television.
Guest Flyboy Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 The swerve just stopped Fox from getting a lawsuit... that is all.
