Guest Karnage Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Are any fellow Canadians really annoyed with the amount of hockey games TSN simulcasts off ESPN? I don't really mind with NFL or MLB coverage but ESPN's hockey commentary is horrible. Plus it looks like TSN cares more about Canada's other sport curling rather than hockey with the way they show nonstop coverage of the tournament of hearts. Guest starvenger Report post Posted February 18, 2003 ESPN owns about 10% of TSN, with Bell Globemedia owning the rest. ESPN would own more, but CRTC regulations prevent that. They actually wanted to rename the network ESPN Canada but realized that you can't make a "Toronto Sports Network" joke out of that and left it as TSN. However ESPN did have enough influence to change the TSN logo to resemble ESPN's and change the news show from SportsDesk to SportsCentre (note the spelling).
