Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Umm, so counting tonight, Ross has been in the main event TWICE in the past couple of months. WTF.....is this the best way to go into NWO? Unless Austin makes an appearance this is a complete waste of our time.....and even though, still it is garbage.Oh well, nothing new I guess.

Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Was Morely wearing an ECW shirt? I couldn't make out the logo, but it looked like the ECW logo for the game Hardcore Revolution...

Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 18, 2003 I thought it served the purpose of making Bishoff look like SOMETHNG to go against Austin, while also adding to the anger that Austin will have for Bishoff, making their match that much more heated. I didn't see a thing wrong with it, but maybe that's just me. It was just PPV buildup, that's to be expected.
Guest LatinoHeat Report post Posted February 18, 2003 nah morely was wearing an ecw shirt.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 18, 2003 It was a No Way Out shirt. Why is Ross main eventing multiple Raws while RVD is in opening matches? Gee, wonder why the ratings are in the shitter now... Talk about ZERO payoff.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted February 18, 2003 catering this Austin return for the ppv is dumb anyway. No one buys ppvs. Even when business is great, it is rare that a buyrate is that good. Everyone knows that Austin's real return will be the night after Raw anyway for 99% of people that watch WWE.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Is anyone thinking there's going to be the dreaded finger-poke-of-doom? Or an Austin/Bischoff alliance. I love how they talk about this Austin/Ross freindship...people seem to have a short memory span from when Austin was kicking his ass in 2001.

But didnt Austin beat the shit out of JR like 2 years ago???? breaks in reality and logic lapses abound WWE.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted February 18, 2003 well yah, and the whole point is, no one cares if they are friends. What does Ross have to do with ANYTHING....the answer SHOULD be.......NOTHING. Jim Ross's daily slobberfests over Steve Austin is one of the reasons I don't want to see Austin back long term. I mean are we all prepared to hear, "Stone Cold, Stone Cold, Stone Cold" as every week striving mid-carders are pushed even further down the ladder?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Sure the answer SHOULD be that he doesn't matter, but he does. The casual fans, for some reason, actually care about the guy. I suppose it's because he's "the voice of RAW" or something, but it's true. They saw Bishoff destroy him, and they are pissed, and WANT to see Austin pay Bishoff back, very much so. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2003 nah morely was wearing an ecw shirt. It was a No Way Out shirt. You could see him wearing it in an earlier segment.
Guest jester Report post Posted February 18, 2003 I don't like the way it was handled because it looked like Bischoff needed help to beat JR. Help to beat one overweight non-wrestler. I mean, we all know Austin is going to steamroll Bischoff, but c'mon... Oh, and there's the smaller matter of it being the main event...
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2003 They could have done that match earlier in the night if they weren't going to have Austin run in. I'm guessing he came out after the cameras stopped rolling, but that would leave a huge logic gap of why didn't he help JR if they're trying to play off Austin's friendship with JR? Just like last week when he came out after RAW was over even though JR almost lost his job over Austin NOT being there.

No see, actually no one cares. The ratings won't go up and the buyrate for the ppv won't climb because Jim Ross was beat up. WWE needs to be focusing on things that will be good for business. Jim Ross in the main event twice is NOT one of them. It is rather easy to pop a live crowd when they are at the arena, hell you hear reports from people who HATE raw, talk about it being a good show because they are there live. SO don't let an enthused crowd decieve you. The masses don't care about Jim Ross getting beat up, nor do they care about Ross being friends with Austin, if they do, then they obviously pay no attention to anything that happened past a year ago when Ross was being berated by Austin regularly, and if that is true, then those same fans probably won't be around in the next 6 months, so STOP catering to them. Simple.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Screw the ratings. They should be worried more about house show business putting non-wrestlers in the main event.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Screw the ratings. They should be worried more about house show business putting non-wrestlers in the main event. That's what I said last year. Vince, and everyone else, should stop worrying about ratings for at least one month's worth of t.v., and worry about which wrestlers to move up the ladder. Seeing Bischoff perform a Bruce Lee-like maneuver on JR's head is not motivation for someone to buy a pay per view. Fans these days don't give a damn about storyline and logic anymore. They want to see ACTION. I didn't see Angle vs. Benoit at RR, but I heard about the ovation. That's what fans want to see. Two good workers putting on a good wrestling match. Guest Brian Report post Posted February 18, 2003 It's not even as deep as that. When you put two non-wrestlers in the main event of the show before the pay per view, what does it do for anyone?
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 18, 2003 What bothers me about having J.R. vs Bischoff is it screws the fans in attendance. We at home have the option of turning the channel. The reason they should have two non-wrestlers in the main event is if Austin was going to make the save.
Guest JMA Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Why did Bischoff need the help of Morley to beat Ross? Why didn't they just have Bisch take Ross apart? Does Ross not want to job clean to Bischoff or something?
