Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Nathan Jones missed the Winnipeg house show on Saturday night. From what I heard, he was detained at the airport in Orlando, FL for allegedly joking about having a bomb in his shoe. During a time when the country is on high alert, that isn't the brightest thing that someone can do. Ah, the legend of Nathan Jones continues to grow. 1wrestling.com
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Man from the company's next big debut to just another giant jobber......that was fast.

Guest creativename Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Eh, he'll probably be forgiven--hosses always get extra chances. The road is still clear to squashing Benoit~!
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted February 18, 2003 I thought he said he didn't do comedy ? If he doesn't, then what's with the Richard Reid impression ?
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Vince sure picked a winner, didn't he? The backstage stories will be better than anything he does on TV. Wonder how long before he snaps, seriously hurts some one, and has to be fired. You just KNOW that the milk-producing is just begging for dozens of types of ribbing. Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 18, 2003 I'm sure the dumb fucker wouldn't find it nearly as funny if someone suggested having a Bali barbecue.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 18, 2003 I know I shouldn't, but I'm starting to love this guy. I'm assuming he'll be terrible in ring, but he's the most interesting thing going on at the moment.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Yeah, he's the shits in the ring...but even by just reading his shit he's the most entertaining guy in wrestling right now.
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Isn't that a serious crime? You can't do sometyhing like that, and they just let you go? I saw a guy, who was running late for his flight at Dulles, push his way through the checkpoint and and took off running for his flight. There were so many cops and security on this guy ass, you wouldn't believe it. Needless to say they took him out in handcuffs, plus it was in the local papers. And I'm sure they prosecuted him. Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Well, there goes that push. That's funny/sad in a weird sort of way. The guy was just about to make it and now this.
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted February 18, 2003 Oh, did he get arrested? Or just detained, and let go?

Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 18, 2003 I'm sure he'll still get in. This happens to a lot of people. Obviously the last time I heard about this kind of incident it was pre 9/11. Mind you, it's not as if he had a squeeky-clean past to start with now is it?

Guest raptor Report post Posted February 19, 2003 I can't believe that you guys think the push is over. They've invested a lot of time and money into him. Stupid personal life shit isn't going to stop them from giving him a chance. Or a hundred, cause he's, you know, big. And, its 1wrestling. They have a habit of being wrong, don't they? Funny, yes. Doom on Project: Jones? No. For what its worth, I've heard conflicting reports about his in ring ability, too. Some say he sucks the meat missle, where others say he's a good power wrestler. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted February 19, 2003 1wrestling never said anything about Nathan Jones being punished for it. Anything short of injuring HHH or raping Stephanie--or raping HHH and injuring Stephanie--will not stop him from being pushed. Vince likes Nathan. Nuff said. Stupid personal life shit isn't going to stop them from giving him a chance. Or a hundred, cause he's, you know, big. This does nothing but bad publicity for the WWE. This is a big fuckup and Jones will get punished, unless they turn this into his "He's really fucking crazy, folks" gimmick, this could work out. But why should be not punished for doing THIS? He's lucky he's not in jail.

Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 19, 2003 Hartfan, of course it's bad publicity, but he did serve years in jail for armed robbery, has a history of steroid abuse and has a fairly violent past. They still signed him.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted February 19, 2003 Hartfan, of course it's bad publicity, but he did serve years in jail for armed robbery, has a history of steroid abuse and has a fairly violent past. They still signed him. Vince subscribes to the old adage "there's no such thing as bad publicity." You have to admit that signing Tyson for the Wrestlemania XIV main event angle paid off in a huge way. Although this isn't quite the same thing. Few people outside of wrestling know who the hell Jones is.
Guest raptor Report post Posted February 19, 2003 I didn't say he shouldn't be punished, only that his push won't be downgraded by something only internet fans know about right now. If it become a national thing, they'll just keep pushing him as an even crazier bastard.

They still signed him. Yeah, but they are building him up that "He did the time and he's not like that anymore", then he goes out and says he has a BOMB? IN AN AIRPORT? AFTER 9/11??? Yikes. Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted February 19, 2003 How did he get a visa in the first place? Convicted criminals aren't allowed in the country. Vince must've, personally had to guarantee him to immingration.
