Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 - It turns out that WWE does not have plans to sign one-legged wrestler Steve Chamberlain. WWE accidently contacted Chamberlain while trying to get in touch with another one-legged wrestler, Tenacious Z. WWE has signed Tenacious Z. Credit: PWTorch.com
Guest Downhome Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 If this is true, all I have to say is... ... ...and that's all, I don't even think this is worthy of comment, or jokes, really.
Guest Choken One Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Is there a Phone book of One legged Wrestlers or something? Is this the new "Trend" of wrestling? I could forsee HHH whacking off his "Bad" leg just to claim he owns the One Legged Wrestlers...
Guest treble charged Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 It's hilarious. Replace 'one legged' with 'black' and you've got a news story on your hands.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 This story sounds like a stupid joke. I don't believe it.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 What a way till crush a kid's dreams. Get the call from the WWE and a couple days later get the one says "whoops! Sorry, you're the wrong guy."

Sorry, you're the wrong guy." I don't know much about these sort of things, but could that not be grounds for some sort of law suit if they actually did something like that?
Guest Ace309 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Not unless they signed something, no. DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer. My word is not law, unless proposition 24 passes, which we all pray it will.
Guest Choken One Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 It's no different then saying "We would like to talk with you"...and then going "We changed your mind"... They seemingly never offered him a contract so there is no legalities...

If that's the case I'm sure he could sue for trama or something...I mean you can sue for ANYTHING now. People who knowingly suck black smoke into their lungs sue when they get sick. I could probably walk down the street, pimp slap an old lady, then sue her for making my hand sting. It's almost gotten that bad.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 THIS PROMOTION IS FUCKED That is all
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 WWE has a quota. They can only have one one-legged wrestler, and only one quality wrestler.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 This story sounds like a stupid joke. Isn't that basically what the WWE is now though? This story seems to fit right in...
Guest TheArchiteck Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Wow, that really has to suck. I'm pretty sure that this guy told everyone he knew that he was going big time. That has to be one of most unprofessional thing they have done.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 That has to be one of most unprofessional thing they have done. Dunno...this almost seems classy when you put it up again Kane laying track on dead girls and D-lo knocking Terri into a miscarage.
Guest nikowwf Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 So, they asked to talk to someone, then found out it wasn't him, and told him they were sorry. Wow, damn unproffensional. They should close down tommorrow. Seriously, you people bitch an awful lot sometimes, don't you think? niko

Seriously, you people bitch an awful lot sometimes, don't you think? niko For a multimillion dollar company, there is no excuse for something this amaturish going on.
Guest nikowwf Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Companies make mistakes, what world do you live in? Seriously, do you have all the details? From what i understood, it said they contacted the wrong person. I've called the wrong person before.....you think its impossible to ask for a name from someone and be led to the wrong person? niko
Guest razazteca Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 well they are going to scrap the Siamese/Conjoined twin angle? At least WWE is not signing Maury Povish guest.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 That has to be one of most unprofessional thing they have done. Dunno...this almost seems classy when you put it up again Kane laying track on dead girls and D-lo knocking Terri into a miscarage. Oh, please. The D-Lo, Terri angle wasn't bad.

From what i understood, it said they contacted the wrong person. I've called the wrong person before.....you think its impossible to ask for a name from someone and be led to the wrong person? niko For me, sure, we all make mistakes. However, for a company to do something like this, there is no excuse. If they can't have their shit together enough than to call the right talent, then something is wrong. In any other company of WWE's status, someone would loose their job over this. They didn't just call the wrong person, they called the wrong person leading them to believe they would be signed to a contract. If a production company called someone and did something like this, someone would be fired. There is no excuse.
Guest nikowwf Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 AOL mistated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Lets not even get into Enron. Companies do big huge horrible things all the time. WWE CALLED (not offered contract, mind you) the wrong person and you want the person to get fired. Jim Ross says WE SHOULD GET THAT 1 LEGGED GUY FROM NWA...someone else says, HEY I KNOW WHO THAT IT IS, gives him the wrong name and he calls them. FIRE THEM ALL...thats just damn impossible and inexcusable niko
Guest The Hamburglar Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 But more to the point, why give a fuck? What's with this sudden fascination for the well-being of one-legged wrestlers anyway? Seems a bit patronising, really.
Guest nikowwf Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 because the WWE is going to do some evil thing to him which Vince Pureheart Russo and the mighty and heroic NWA (our heroes) would never do....not only that but the evil WWE made it even worse by making that other poor 1 legged guy hop over to answer the phone when they didn't even want to talk to him... shocking... sorry for the sarcasm, but thats what im hearing out of a lot of peeps on this niko

Miscarriage is not something you joke about, or make light of in an angle. It's one thing you stay away from. And as for WWE getting the wrong wrestler, would it have been that hard for someone to ask "Could I speak to Tenacious Z please ?" when calling the guy ?
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 FUCKED UP..............BIG TIME. The WWE should get their information right, before doing this. This guy must be confused after what just happened.....
Guest The Hamburglar Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 because the WWE is going to do some evil thing to him which Vince Pureheart Russo and the mighty and heroic NWA (our heroes) would never do What, not like having wrestlers dressed up as the KKK, wrestlers wearing Nazi symbols and using tragic deaths in order to further angles? You shock me, sir.

It just doesn't make sense to me, and isn't something that a big company should be excused for doing, but hey, that's my opinion.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 It's sad for the kid involved and it's a silly mistake to make but that said it is plausible although it doesn't reflect very well on the way WWE hunts for talent
