Rob E Dangerously Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 I'm listening to his CD (downloaded off Kazaa) and it's just hiliarious. Hedberg has a specialty of telling weird jokes, not to mention that he's high while he tells jokes. "I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault."- Mitch Hedberg "A guy handed me a picture and said "here's a picture of me when I was younger", every picture is of you when you're younger, here's a picture of me when I was older. You sonofabitch, how'd you pull that off? show me that camera" and i'm not even though the CD yet
Guest razazteca Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Does the performance resemble Jim Bruerer's style of Half Bake jokes?
Rob E Dangerously Posted February 20, 2003 Author Report Posted February 20, 2003 yeah "I was walking with a friend who was a tightrope walker and that was totally unacceptable"
Guest Insanityman Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 He sounds like someone I've seen before... is he the "You know... I hate how long baked potatoes take. I may not want one- but when they're done... who knows?" If so, he had me on the ground laughing.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Yeah, insanityman, that's him. His special is on Comedy Central all the time. Keep an eye out for it. I find him absolutely hilarious. Here's his website. http://www.mitchhedberg.net/
Rob E Dangerously Posted February 21, 2003 Author Report Posted February 21, 2003 Mitch Hedberg Quotes
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 cool, I didn't even know he had a CD. I've seen him on Letterman and I think Conan and I've seen some of his Comedy Central stuff and he is one of my favorites. I can't stop laughing when he is on. Just the way he delievers stuff like "I can't wait til this set is over. I have a roll of Lifesavers in my pocket... and pineapple is next" Just the way he said it kept me laughing, along with all his other material.
Guest Eyeball Kid Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 He performed at my school last week. Very funny guy. However, he opened for Harland Williams, who is decidedly not funny.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 "My friend came up to me and said, "Hey, you know what I like? Baked Potatos!" And I said, "Oh, come on man. You have got to give me time to guess!" He's a funny guy. I still prefer Stephen Lynch, but Hedberg is very funny.
Guest Shaneomac Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Mitch Hedberg is one of the the best comedians out there today. If I'm not mistaken he had a small role in Almost Famous.
Guest hardyz1 Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Stephen Lynch owns. But Mitch Hedberg is damn funny too. Harland Williams, on the other hand, is forever considered lame due to the movie "Sorority Boys". He was on Conan last week and he was pretty funny.
Guest bravesfan Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Can anyone help me out with identifying a comedian? --He's pudgy; not Kevin James' size, a little skinnier. --White guy; wears glasses. --He bitches ALOT. He bitches about everything, though I can't recall most of his material right now. Very cynical and sarcastic. --He's seemingly always on Comedy Central; has his own special --Bears a resemblance to Stephen Root (Jimmy James, of Newsradio fame.) If you know him, let me know. He's 2nd on my list of favorite comedians right now (squeezed in between Kevin James and Dane Cook), but I've never bothered to remember his name. EDIT: Stephen Lynch is damn good, but does he have material outside of his guitar gimmick? It seems he has a hard time keeping his audience into his material, when it doesn't "jump" from one subject to the other in rapid succession.

Guest bravesfan Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Lewis Black? Yeah, that's him. Thanks Leth.
Guest Eyeball Kid Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Harland Williams, on the other hand, is forever considered lame due to the movie "Sorority Boys". He was on Conan last week and he was pretty funny. I have nothing to say about the unseen-by-me Sorority Boys, but he was pretty damn lame when I saw him last week. To each his own, though.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Lewis Black rules, Harland Williams blows. "Why is it corn on the cob? I think regular corn should be corn OFF the cob. I mean, it's like calling my arm Mitch, and calling my whole body Mitch-All-Together." The key to Mitch is delivery. Basically, he's high as a kite during his show, so everything he says is funny. His jokes are mostly funny anyway, but he could read People Magazine and people would laugh.
Guest Downhome Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 This guy sounds like someone I'd like to check out, I'll do that right now actually. I DO like Harland Williams though, I just for some reason can't NOT laugh at the guy. I also really, REALLY like a guy by the name of Brian Regan, specificly his "Seahorse" thing, it cracks me up every time.
Guest Downhome Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 OH MY GOD, I'm downloading his stuff right now, and the MOMENT I heard his voice I knew I'd heard something from him before. I went to his site, and hell yeah it's the same guy. It's true, everything this guy says, is basicly funny, just the way he talks. Thanks for bringing up his name, I've been looking for his stuff since I first saw him, I had fogot his name, etc...
Guest Ravenbomb Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 yea, out of the comedians today I like Hedberg and this guy (DAMNIT what's his name. He did the Burger King drivethrough bit on Comedy Central Presents) most. But then again, I don't follow stand-up comedy that much, so what do I know?
Guest razazteca Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Lewis Black is funny as hell on the Daily Show
Guest treble charged Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 His 'Hockey Love' stuff is, um, interesting. This is the most I've ever heard ANYONE talk about the Trashers.
