I feel this is my forte in the world of music. Finding good things while inebriated.

 

This of course depends on how you like to enjoy your buzz.

 

If you like to completely zone out, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother and Ummagumma. Both sides of it, too. The studio material on that album is often overlooked, but it's very good. Other recommendations include Tool's Undertow, and Lateralus. Also, absolutely anything by Neurosis falls under this category.

 

If you're getting high to relax and just lay in bed before crashing out, go with some later Type O Negative. Not too complicated, slow and groggy. Good stuff.

 

For something a little catchier, I'd go with Clutch. The vocals are love it or hate it, though, so don't say I didn't warn you. I happen to think they're excellent. Check out their self titled cd, or maybe Elephant Riders. For single tracks, you can't go wrong with Spacegrass, The Elephant Riders, and American Sleep.

 

Other Heavy stuff that works well with weed:

 

Down-Nola

Black Sabbath-Any of their first four albums.

Anything by Cephalic Carnage

 

 

Some folks swear by jam bands when they're high, but personally they make me want to stab someone, no matter if I'm sober or otherwise, so I'll steer clear of that area. Still others might go with some Snoop or something, but I'm not into any incarnation of hip-hop, so I can't help you there either.

I must say, as far as Tool while high goes, the music is pretty damned good, but FUCK, one night listening to Stinkfist I just started freaking out because the lyrics are just so fucking disturbing...

 

Clutch isn't too bad, but it's not music I'd sit and listen to while high. I'd perfer to like, do something, because the music has too much energy to just sit and listen to. Not good zoning music.

 

On a side note, you're all twisted. Taking such an innocent thing as forgetting to change accounts and turning it against me like that....psssha.

If you ever see Clutch live, it's imperative that you get maximum stoned beforehand.

 

I think they're pretty lazy, really. Slow groove bass lines, Sabbath-style riffs, goofy lyrics. Perfect for smoking, in my book.

Snuffbox mentioned the FUCKING BUTTHOLE SURFERS, so he wins. After I once spent a summer's day sitting outside school getting suitably mellow, I went home and stuck on 'I Get Wet' and tracks 10 and 11 moved me to tears. Ever since then, they do the same even when I'm not stoned or drunk.
