Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I've got a list of DVDs I'm interested in buying, but I've never actually seen them for sale. If anyone knows a site that lists DVDs that are in production or whatever, I'd be glad to see it! DVDS I'm looking for: Quantum Leap: I suppose Season by Season The Best of Unsolved Mysteries: Divide the old stories by catagory (UFOS, Bigfoot, etc) Nothern Exposure: Season by Season Twins:SE Beetlejuice:SE Raging Bull:SE there's probably more... Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Amazon.com usually lists them early, but I'm sure there's a better site out there for this. I believe Quantum Leap is coming to DVD soon.
Guest Brush with Greatness Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I'm waiting for the much rumoured two disc editions of both Office Space and Goodfellas. As well, I'm hoping for seasoned box sets of Seinfeld and Degrassi. Also want to get Hoop Dreams and Wrestling With Shadows on DVD as well. Anyone have any word on these DVD's ever happening? Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 21, 2003 AH HA! FINALLY! Somebody with my same opinion on this TV show to DVD stuff!
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Yeah, it was announced back in September that Quantum Leap (and Magnum) would be coming to DVD this year. I haven't heard anything else since, though. Also, last I heard, there were no plans to bring Northern Exposure to DVD. I think it had something to do with the expense of licensing all that music played on the show.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I wish that they would release a Daria DVD collection. I checked on various sites, and all I can find are the two mini-movies that MTV made. That's it.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Not to get off topic, (On a topic i started none the less) but Seinfeld?? Its on 3 times a day in Syndication here in Bumfuck, Wisconsin, and I'm sure everywhere else! Do you really need the DVD set? Suppose there's 1 particular episode you want to see. You'd just pop in the DVD & watch it. sure, you could tape all the episodes, but if the episode is in the middle of the tape, you've got to FF to try to find it. Or suppose you're not home when the show is on? Or you're busy? Or if you're bored at 1 AM and want to watch it? It's all about convenience.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted February 21, 2003 videoeta.com has some release dates for you.
Guest MDH257 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 The Digital Bits.com repoted that Warner gave some release info to region 2 (Europe) reatailers which said to expect a Goodfellas:SE in September or October. That's highly unconfirmed and dosen't nessecarily mean were getting a SE here in region 1. There was an chat session with a FOX DVD rep who said there were a lot of unexpected headaches in getting a Office Space: SE done and that it wouldn't be happening anytime soon. BTW, nobody's forcing anyone to buy these TV DVD box sets. If you don't want it, don't get it. I'm not exactly on edge waiting for Seinfeld on DVD, but I'll probably get it when it comes out. They edit out aboout 2 minutes of every syndicated rerun which I'm know would be restored for DVD. Seinfelds' expensive syndication deal is likely the reason it's not on DVD yet. I know there's language in the Friends and Buffy syndication contracs that only allows the season box sets to be released two per year.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted February 22, 2003 Quantum Leaps Pilot is out on DVD nothing for NE or UM, and there's no sign of a Twins or Beetlejuice SE DVD any time soon. Raging Bull SE is out in Region 2, Ala Predator SE
