Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I KNOW that the overnight rating means almost nothing, but this really caught my eye... Last night's edition of Smackdown scored a 4.7 overnight broadcast rating, with a 7 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is way up from what the show has been doing recently in the overnights. The final number should be out later today. ...this overnight, is quite a bit higher than what it's been for the past few weeks. Since that is the case, I would assume that the normal rating would be up just as well. It was the last show before the big PPV, it was the show after RAW which improved quite a bit, so what do you think Smackdown will get? I'll post the final rating here once it's out, and if not me, then one of you guys can do it if you want. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 The final rating will probably end up in the 3.7- 3.8 range, which is up from the 3.4's i think they have been getting.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 21, 2003 It's because they teased the Mania main event.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 21, 2003 It's because they teased the Mania main event. Wait, you mean people actually thought Angle/Brock was going to actually happen?
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted February 21, 2003 If they'll buy JR in RAW main events, then they'll buy just about anything WWE offers them.
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I definetly know there were a few people who thought Brock/Angle was going to happen.
Guest papacita Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I'll admit, for a second I thought they were actually gonna go through with it...and I'm not easily fooled... Now if you'll excuse me, I have a bridge to buy.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I think people thought that they were going to see a confrontation, one-on-one, not a title switch or even an actual match.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I think Rock/Hogan had a lot to do with the rating. Plus Survivor sucks ass.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 21, 2003 From 1wrestling, obviously... This week's edition of Smackdown did a 3.4 broadcast rating, with a five share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is up from last week's 3.2 rating. ...discuss.
