Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Looks like one of my friends was caught in the fire last night. I just talked with his brother a little while ago, and his brother outright said that he didn't look too well. He's suffered burns on 22% of his body, mainly his arms, neck, lips and forehead. He also inhaled a lot of smoke, as he was right by the stage where the pyro was set up. He's swollen up to almost 4 times his size, and has been unconscious since 11:30 last night. If he can't pull through the night tonight, his chances of survival won't be good. This is one of my really good friends, who was pretty much my sidekick in high school (he was a year younger than me, and his brother was a year older, but we all hung out together). We've gone to numerous concerts at this place before. I never thought something like this would happen. If I seem quiet, or "snippy" today at all, don't take it personal. I'm going to have a lot on my mind, and I'm just trying to vent it all out. Thanks guys.

Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Oh my God, that's terrible. I hope he's OK. (my apologies for being unaware, but what fire? Was it a local news thing or a big thing?)
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted February 21, 2003 It made the national news, 'Flow. Check the music folder for all the details. Short version:The band Great White set off a pyro display that set the walls of the club on fire. Nearly 100 died, and over 130 were injured, my friend be amongst those numbers. He was standing right by the stage when it happened, which resulted in major smoke inhilation. From what his brother told me, he didn't get out of the club under his own power, and was either dragged out or pushed out from the force of the crowd.
