JEREMY BORASH: FROM THE INSIDE

FROM THE INSIDE

By Jeremy Borash

Many felt this past Wednesday's show may have been our best to date. I certainly felt the crowd was the hottest they've ever been. We turned away well over 300 people this past Wednesday night at the Asylum. The town is buzzing about the new Wednesday night pasttime, and TNA is the hot ticket. The buildup for the Styles / Jarrett main event was fantastic, and the match delivered. AJ has definitely emerged as a top star for TNA, as he gets as big of a reaction as anyone on our roster.

Jeff Jarrett and I will be attending the Mike Tyson fight tomorrow night in Memphis, and will be meeting with several high ranking television executives at the fight. I will also be catching up with my good friend Tonya Harding, whom I've known for a few years from my radio days when she was a frequent guest. She has seen TNA and is a closet wrestling fan. Tonya is on the undercard on the show. (Is it me or is boxing turning into wrestling?) The last Tyson fight I attended nearly ended in a riot after a horribly booked finish.

The Harris Brothers will be facing the team of Dusty Rhodes and Vader this Wednesday night.

B.G. James was scheduled on the show Wednesday night, but left the building midday. The reasons are not being disclosed by anyone involved in the situation.

Kid Kash and Trinity continue to impress. Kash has been handed the ball to lead the X-Division, and thus far has done a great job.

While his first attempt with the SATs did not go as planned, Konnan has informed us he will be bringing in a very familiar Lucha star to take on Jerry Lynn this Wednesday night.

Had a chance to spend some time with Toby Keith Wednesday night after the show in Nashville. Toby was in town for the Country Radio Convention going on here in Music City. He had a blast doing our show, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the angry American return someday.

I had a chance to get a dose of wrestling Philly style this past Friday and Saturday night. While I could write a book on my many observations from the weekend, overall it was a very positive experience. I saw all ends of the wrestling spectrum. I'll start with the XPW show from Friday night.

While I didn't get a chance to see the first half of the show, what I did see I enjoyed. The locker room was a good atmosphere, and it was good to see some friends I hadn't seen in a while. Shane Douglas looks to be in great shape and ran a tight ship. The only real problem I had with the show was something I didn't realize until the following night at the 3PW show. The Viking Hall is the wrong place to hold a wrestling show. Yes, the history there is incredible. However, for that reason alone it was very difficult to see several of the stars that used to headline that building for ECW, wrestle their hearts out for a small, jaded crowd of fans with a "I'm from Philly, impress me" mentality. It just was kind of disappointing, especially with some of the great talent they had on the show.

On the flipside, what a venue 3PW has found themselves in. I've always said atmosphere was one of the biggest factors that can impact a show. It was one of the things that made the Elks Lodge and the Viking Hall at one time so great. It is one of the things that makes the TNA Asylum so great. 3PW's new building is perfect. Its a nightclub with great lighting (it was like seeing a concert ... everything was dark but the ring) , there isn't a bad seat in the house, great sound system, and a fully stocked bar for those who choose to partake in such activities. I loved the new building.

Did I prefer one product over the other? No. They both had very strong talent and easy to follow storylines, and most importantly, are giving some great indy talent decent paydays at a time when they are certainly needed. To me, it all comes down to atmosphere.

Disgraceland was played by former WCW'er Luther Biggs.

Have you seen the trailer to the "Head of State" movie? Check it out, the movie looks hilarious. TNA is featured prominently in the previews. Chris Rock stars in the film.

I met Jonah Friday night, and was impressed. He received a great ovation and showed some great potential in his debut for TNA.

I had also never met Missy Hyatt before until last weekend. I must say she certainly is an interesting lady. I'll be reading her book on the way to Memphis this afternoon.

TNA had another successful airing in Australia with our good friends at Main Event serving as great partners in the venture. Portions of Xplosion will be airing on their Main Event Preview Channel, with talk of getting clearance on a regular broadcast channel soon.

Bob Ryder is at Dory Funk's camp in Florida this weekend as a guest.

The TNA British invasion will begin on Match 5th. Expect to see some new, incredible talent.

TNA Xplosion has been picked up this week in Florence, Alabama and Chattanooga. Xplosion also airs on the Urban America Network on Tuesday nights. Check your local listings for air times.

The program went off the air Wednesday night with Russo outside of Jeff Jarrett's house. Expect the saga to continue this Wednesday night.

That is all from here! We will see ya Wednesday night back at the Asylum!

"Many felt this past Wednesday's show may have been our best to date"

Weird, I didn't think it was even close to it, and I give TNA a ton more leeway than most do. Thats the first I've heard that it got major praise from many.

I would guess Road Dogg showed up fucked up or something, who knows, who cares. Better off without him around.

Meltzer said something about Juvi coming in to take on Lynn this week, so I would assume that is who Borash is referring to there.

Like I said before: Jeremy Borash's "From The Inside" has turned into the new Ross Report.

Well, he didn't say who he's referring to when he says "many".

Not defending the comment, just kind of bringing that up.
