Tyson-Etienne is tonight

Tyson can't afford to fight anyone who has any shot of beating him because that will hurt his rematch against Lewis. They handpicked Etienne so that Tyson could deliver a flashy knockout and make people think he has a shot against Lewis. I personally don't think he has any shot at Lewis unless Lewis totally underestimates him. Everybody wants to compare Tyson to his younger self, which is absurd. When Tyson started abandoning all of the skills that he honed in favor of trying to score a knockout with every punch, he became less formidable. Tyson used to be elusive, accurate and dangerously fast. Now he throws wild punches all the time. This may be a cliche, but Tyson is not hungry anymore. Despit what people may think, he's not going to wake up before sunrise to go train all day anymore. Tyson is fighting for one reason, HE'S BROKE. Every penny that he makes is going to go to someone else. His purse for Saturday's fight was $5 million, but what did he really end up getting? Whatever portion of that $5 million that was designated to him, is going to go to his ex-wife. After he pays her the $6 million that he owes her, he still owes the IRS a shitload of money and I'm sure there are lawsuits floating around out there that are going to require him to pony up some money. I know that the president of one of the boxing councils was trying to sue him because he got hurt during last year's press conference brawl. Every dollar that Tyson makes is going to go to someone else. The guy doesn't want to fight anymore, but he has to because it's his job now. Maybe Mike should play powerball or something.

I think Tyson should fight Butterbean. Now that'd be a fight.

Pinnacle said it best...However, I think The money thing is better motivation then he had during the Mid 90's when his fire really died out...

I kind of Wish Boxing Had A season type mode or Tournamet...Just take the Top 8 Boxers...Unify the titles Into one Sole World Heavyweight Championship...But That'll never happen thanks to greedy promoters, Tv Contracts and other assorted bullshit with licenses and shit...

Tua would be an interesting matchup, since both guys have the same build and all, but he doesn't have a chin, so it would be another flash KO.

He's never been knocked out. I think he can take a punch.

He hasn't? Wow. I stand corrected. I thought for sure Lewis KO'd him.

They have one. He's called Lennox Lewis, and he unified the titles. As far as I'm concerned, he's the champ until defeated or retired. Ring Magazine as well crowns their own champions, without regard to the sanctioning bodies.

No...I am pretty sure that John Ruiz has a Title...Maybe not an important one but i recall seeing him the other day with a Graphic that said " Something Champion"...

Right...I was saying they need to have ONE offical World Title...With 4 titles floating around it causes Bullshit Politics...

What's the point? They unified the titles 5 years ago, and now there's three champions again thanks to "bullshit politics." What needs to happen is people should stop recognizing the WBA, WBC, IBF championships.

No...What I am saying is pretty simple have JUST ONE FUCKING Championsip...

Indeed. Now go convince all the alphabet soup commissions of that.

Well, Ring Magazine and USA Today have corraborated on their own rankings for about 2-3 years now. They recognize only one champion in each division, and their rankings are much more indicative of the sport, IMO.

Just in case this changes anything...

Wladimir Klitchsko got KO'd in the 2nd round by Corrie Sanders on Saturday night.

Shit.

Seriously, that changes everything. At this point, I'd like to see them match up Lewis and Jones, just because its the only matchup with any kind of interest.

I am still convinced Tyson Holyfield III would be big draw just for the circus athphosphere alone.
