Austin to SD=Big Mistake?

Recommended Posts

A list of reasons why Austin should not be sent to the SD roster:

1. Switching and Rock on the rosters would be meaningless given Rock's only going to be in town for 2 months, rendering the assignment of Austin to SD and swapping Rock to Raw meaningless

2. Raw needs star power. BADLY.

3. SD is building new stars and lets be honest, I highly expect Austin to once again be pulling political crap to keep from putting over the midcard guys while the Austin fanboys are crying out that he is when he's simply burying them ala Angle in the fall of 2001 or Jericho in Feburary 2002.

3. You can easily ship any talent you want Austin to feud with to Raw rather than overturn the applecart even more than by sticking Austin on SD. And you can get rid of the deadweight on Raw as a bonus too (like say trade the Evolution for Team Angle)....

Austin/Rock is a top of the card Wrestlemania bout and Smackdown already has one of those in the shape of Brock/Angle so, for that reason alone, Austin should return to Raw and be joined by Rocky come Monday night.

I agree with you in some ways. RAW does need star power and Austin could be the one to break the glalss ceiling that exists over there. I dont know if I agree with you on Austin playing backstage politics again... I would think that the problem they are having with HHH now, that they wouldn't allow too much of that to go on but hey this is WWE. Austin going to SD! gives him better workers to work with though.... Austin/Beniot Austin/Guerraro Austin/Edge Austin/Angle... I dont know why the WWE wants to do Rock/Austin IV or whatever at WM... If they are going to sign Goldberg, I dont get why he faces the rock... I mean Id rather see Austin/Goldberg (the real fantasy match) and Beniot/Rock... I dont know what the WWE is gonna do and the sad part is they dont know either.

Austin didn't bury Angle in the Fall of 01. The US ttile did. He treated him a lot better than brock (Read: the Bookers) are now.

I don't think Austin buried Jericho in their match at last year's No Way Out. Granted Jericho wasn't made to look as strong as perhaps he should have and the match wasn't great but part of that stems from the nWo related finish. That took the focus away from Jericho retaining the title and his title run altogether and put it on the nWo. Not really anything to do with Austin.

A list of reasons Austin should be on the Smackdown roster:

1. Austin will be on whatever show he damn well wants to be on, and all indications are that will be Smackdown. Deal with it.

I don't care where he goes eventually, just so long that Austin is on Raw tomorrow night.

Same here TC.

Austin didn't exactly do wonders with Angle either.

He jobs the belt to the guy under really ridicilous circumstances and then gets it back TWO WEEKS LATER? Whasupwitdat?

The finish to NWO did make Jericho look weak but Austin didn't do wonders with him either. He pretty much dogged the match and made Jericho look like a chump

But it wouild make more sense to ship the SD talent to Raw to fight Austin instead of shipping Austin to the SD roster. Raw needs help and this way things can get better instead of more worse (especially with the split PPV plan coming soon)...

But the way they always treat Angle, is that really Austin's fault?

Anyways, he should stay on RAW. They need him.

Has Austin ever buried anyone? No. All he did was veto feuds with Jarrett and Billy Gunn. Neither were close to the upper card, or a bankable opponant. I didn't blame him one bit.

He's made numerous people look good: Benoit, Angle, Jericho, Guerrero, RVD, and others. He is a team player when the angle is done with plans for the future.

How did Austin make Jericho & RVD look good? And what Austin's feud with Booker T.? I don't recall Booker ever getting the best of Austin.

I don't know about Jericho, but RVD had a dusty finish with Austin and he sold a ton for him other than the three-way.

** Also, if you’re going to RAW on Monday in Toronto, don’t expect Steve Austin to be there. Expectation is that he’s going to Smackdown right after the PPV so they can set up the Austin/ Rock match for Wrestlemania.

Makes sense, though I can see them switching it up and having Rocky show up at Raw. It could work if Rock sides with Vince at No Way Out, saying that Vince is allowing Rock to jump to Raw and there's nothing Bisch or Steph can do about it.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

Vince is an idiot if he doesn't put Austin on RAW the next night since the people who don't get PPVs are going to wonder what happened and we'll be pissed if he isn't there/

When did Austin do a Dusty finish with RVD?

Austin faced Jericho three times in one week and squashed him like a bitch each time. He lost to Jericho at Vengeance thanks to a crooked ref, Vince, a belt shot and Booker T. He lost the cage match because he was an idiot and thanks to Booker T.

Austin may've jobbed to Jericho but he certainly didn't make him look good

NEWSFLASH: Vince MacMahon an "idiot" says BobBarron. Wrestling world in shock. More details to follow.

LiveAudioWrestling is also reporting that there is a strong possibility that we're going to see a Survivor Series finish to Hogan/Rock. Take that for what you will, but it makes sense to me.

Hahahha- that was a good one LOTC.

I figured that given what they're setting up for Wrestlemania and the fact that it's in Montreal.

I hope Vince enjoys a hostile crowd tomorrow night

Bob- Vince hates Canada. Maybe 'cause we have the best crowd. I dunno.

Montreal, Survivor Series 97- Fucks Bret Hart.

Montreal, Survivor Series 98- Fucks Mick Foley.

Edmonton, Raw 2001- Fucks Chris Benoit.

Toronto, WrestleMania 18- Fucks the entire crowd over by putting on one of the worst Manias in recent memory.

Yeah, everyone in T.O. was pissed and thought Mania sucked. They were so disappointed by that Rock/Hogan match!

Survivor Series 98 wasn't in Montreal and the Raw was in Calgary not Edmonton.

I liked Wrestlemania X-8- I thought it was a fun show.

Last time Vince came to TO we got Los Guerreros v. Benoit/Angle so hopefully we'll get a fun show on the Road to Wrestlemania.

But if Austin isn't there and they don't compensate- I'm gonna be pissed I didn't go to school in London

Who HASN'T done a Dusty finish with RVD?

I honestly don't remember. Can someone refresh my memory?

I know the one time they faced RVD won thanks to an Angle distraction but that's all I remember them facing off.

RVD had a dusty finish with the UT didnt he? Where he pinned him with Rolling Thunder but his foot was on the ropes so Flair came out and overturned it.

Fuck, my bad. Eh, I'm still convinced Vince doesn't like Canada. WrestleMania 18 is proof. They could've done a great show given their roster but instead we get Austin wasted against Hall, HHH predictably going over Jericho, RVD curtain-jerking and a god-awful 4 way tag.

It was APA v. Dudz v. Hardyz v. Billy and Chuck going out there and killing the crowd for 13 minutes
