Guest Human Fly Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Steiner's won't make a good heel. He doesn't have any credible offense. He sure as hell can't carry anyone (Could you imagine Steiner/RVD? Shudder). Actually I think a Steiner v. RVD match would be a ton better then what we have been getting. I look at it this way, RVD could bump from Steiner's power offense (limited as it may be) more then HHH could/has. Steiner could also toss him around like a rag doll. At least RVD has two working legs, which is more then we can say HHH or Steiner has.
Guest humongous2002 Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 RVD and Steiner on a streetfight match would be good. Let's not just blame Steiner for the bad match b/c it's up to the wannabe Flair champ to carry him.
Guest JMA Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Steiner just isn't a good worker anymore (like HHH). The injuries and steriod abuse have taken their toll on his body (also like HHH). Bad workers should not be tolerated in WWE.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Steiner's performance wasn't bas bad as Big Shows, Takers (minus Plancha and armbar), Trips, or Hogans. But why does he get booed? Because everyone has a preconceived notion he is a roided out loser. The RR match blew hard but this one was passable. No one will ever give him credit, but I hate to break it to you. He won't get fired because ignorant fans shitlist him for no reason.

However, I'd have to wonder if he's earning the boo's for being a WCW guy. I know Booker and a few others have gotten to the fans, but Booker has his catchphrases and earned his spot. Steiner sort of just walked in, and I think the fans turn on him for that. I do not know.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Well his wrestling hasn't been up to par, so that would explain some of the peoples aggression. But, to have everyone boo him in Montreal, and have everyone hate him on the internet - its a tad harsh. His bad matches, in my opinion, have had more to do with Trips than him. He looked better against Jericho than Jeff Hardy did at the PPV - but heck, what do I know? If he sped up his punches, made less miscues in the ring, and turned heel - he'd be an effective WWE wrestler.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 He will stay in the WWE main event scene.
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Maybe Vince has finally gone senile and he thinks he's sending Superstar Billy Graham out there to have cross-generational dream matches with Triple H? [by the way, I like Steiner the character (and always will; I marked hard for him beating DDP live in front of my face at Superbrawl IX) though I am not a fan of his ring work and it shows the wear and tear time, injuries, and "supplements" have taken on his body. The Frankensteiner is so deeply buried in the past it's hard to believe the man in front of us was once capable of it.] So I don't really mind Steiner in the main event. Sure, other guys deserve to be there. Sure, he didn't really "pay his WWE dues" (so what?) to get there. Sure, the matches with HHH have stunk to high heaven. But you know what? Steiner being in the main feud on Raw is more of a symptom of the current problems with the on air product than anything else. I don't have the energy or even the heart to aim any anger at Steiner's main event status. Hey, if the ship's going to go down, Steiner at least guarantees the wreck will be gloriously grisly.
TheFranchise Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 he'll go where all the wwe wrestlers with no angles go tough enough trainer.
Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Remember, he'll be a World Champ before Chris Benoit. What?!
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 The sad-ass apologistic logic continues......
Guest saturnmark4life Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I seriously don't think steiner should ever have another match with anyone ever. I don't know why anyone is advocating he stick around in case he improves. And would YOU sign up for TE just to get murdered by that raging lunatic?? He can't even wrestle anymore, Bossman would be a better trainer than him. Oh, wait, he is.
Guest Choken One Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 It seems to me that They will likely go with Batistia/Steiner for Mania or MAYBE Flair/Steiner...and then Steiner will turn heel...Have a meaningless fued with Kane for two months...Have a quickie with Austin in a placeholder main event and they'll ship him away...say thanks for "effort" and sign another WCW Recluse...Maybe Luger this time....
