Guest El Satanico Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Great movie and i wasn't expecting what I saw. I have heard about it alot, but I had no idea what it was about or what to expect. For some reason I was expecting some artsy movie like Amelie which i loved. But it's really just a simple story about needing money for a mob boss with no complex artistic meanings. However it still has a great artistic aspect with the way it was shot and all that. It's also a very well written movie. SPOILERS (nothing big but just letting y'all know) SPOILERS I loved how each of the 3 different stories incorporated the same events and adapted them to fit the new story. Not every event looked like the original, but most of the original events were somehow used in each of the last two stories. Best example of that was... In the original during the robbery Manni told Lola that the safety was on and told her how to take it off then the guard said "Girl...Listen" and was cut off by Lola shooting at him In the second story while Lola was pointing gun at her dad the bank guard tells her "Girl listen...you don't know how to use that" then she checked the safety turned it off and shot at her dad. I love shit like that....great attention to detail
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Run Lola Run is a wicked movie, one of my favorites. I'd encourage you to pick up the dvd, it has a neat commentary track with Franke Potente and the director of the flick. It's really cool because it lets you in on a lot of the jokes and angles of the movie that non-German audiences wouldn't get. So yeah, great flick, very worthy of rentage.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 I really enjoyed the movie as well. Everything was so well done...unforunately I saw it so long ago I don't remember as much of it as I should.
Guest Crazy Dan Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 This is a great movie. Very fast paced. You forget that you are watching a foreign movie, which might turn off some of the Smart Mark audience. It also has a pretty kick-ass sound track, which compliments the action perfectly. Definately worth the price of rental. I think you will be pleasantly suprised.
Guest Renegade Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Good concept pulled off by a good movie, although I have to say the music sucked total balls. "I wish I was a hunter..." - What the hell?
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 The music owned you, your children, and your children's children.
Guest Renegade Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 In terms of sucking, yes it did.
Guest J*ingus Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 If by "sucking" you mean "was so awesome I felt like I was getting blown just by listening to it", then I agree, that soundtrack rocked cocks.
