Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Metallica has announced that the position of bassist has been filled. ROB TRUJILLO, best known for playing bass in Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy Osbourne, and for live Black Label Society shows, is now Metallica's bassist. This guy is pretty damn good live. He's an okay bassist (although I haven't heard enough bass-lines from Suicidal Tendencies to tell) from what I've heard of his, and he has tons of onstage charisma. Looks like the tour this summer will be fun. Source: Metallica.com
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Wha? They snagged Rob? THOSE BASTARDS~! I'm sad now. I gotta listen to Lights...Camera...Revolution now. Corey, try "Send Me Your Money", from the same album, or "Lovely". Some good bass stuff in dere. See, now if I could only keep track of what members were in the band at given points, then I might remember off the top of my head what else he played on... Ah well. The bottom line is, EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO SUICIDAL TENDENCIES.
Guest Sassquatch Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Suicidal Tendencies are like Gods down here in town. "Institutionalized" is one of the funniest songs I have ever heard and the video pwnz to boot. At least Rock isn't the replacement and I wish Rob the best.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 MM, I've actually heard "Send Me Your Money." It's about televangelists, right? Good tune.
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Yeah, that'd be the one. But the point is, you should hear it MORE...
Guest caboose Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Fuck Metallica. No actually fuck Lars Ullrich, if the guy wasn't such a fucking prick there wouldn't be a new bassisit.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Man, I was hoping it was me.

The groove that makes your booty move. Underground favs.
Guest converge241 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 damn i had Mike Inez in my pool trujillo was second..those are the two biggest "hey you need a bassist?" guys in Rock/Metal
Guest redbaron51 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Inez would be better IMO but I could live with Trujillo
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Trujillo is most definitely the "hey, you need a bassist?" guy in metal.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Fuck Metallica. No actually fuck Lars Ullrich, if the guy wasn't such a fucking prick there wouldn't be a new bassisit. In fact it was more James Hetfields' problem. He was the one, while along with Lars, who refused to allow Newsted to release other projects un-Metallica related, among other issues that were arising in the band. Just gotta realise, Metallica is THE James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich Band, they always have the final say in everything regarding Metallica. Fucking AWESOME news on the bassist, if they wern't touring with two worthless, generic rap/metal/shitty music bands, I'd almost say they had redeemed themselves. But HEY, they're coming to Australia in 04, so I'm happy. I hate Flyboy UYI
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Mike Inez can rip some shit. I love AIC's basslines, and he was no slouch when playing with Ozzy.
Guest redbaron51 Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 No More Tears bass riff....all Inez...
Guest Sassquatch Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 It's funny looking back at how Neswted was not allowed to pursue any non-metallica related projects while the group seemingly allowed "Old School" to use work from their "Master of Puppets" album which is very un-Metallica of them in doing so. Things change I suppose.
