Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I lost found out today that after 7 weeks, I'm not getting a job that I'm more than qualified for. They told me in a letter, I didn't meet their required needs. What does that mean exactly. It's a nothing job, the pay is good, but having 2 years experience seems like enough. This is real bullshit. I also got the your qualified, you just don't meet our specific needs, and we'll look into if an opening comes up. Prays Unisys suffers a fate worse than Enron and WorldCom combined. Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted February 26, 2003 LOL -- I've gotten so many of those I don't bother to open the letters anymore. I feel your pain, bro. It amazes me how so many incompetent dumbf*cks are in positions of power. There's one place that said that the main reason I didn't get the job was because I wouldn't have been available right away -- I wanted to finish this important project for my current employer and said I could start in 2/3 weeks. And I drove 10+ hours round trip for this interview. (At least that was the reason I was given.) After not contacting me for two months I e-mailed this douchebag, who told me the aforementioned reason. He then said that there was another opening for the same position and if I was interested I could apply for that -- that was 2+ months ago. I e-mailed him several times a week just to annoy him when I knew I wasn't getting the job. I'm now snail-mailing him asking what my status is. All this is documented and going in a letter to the owner of this company. I can't wait to use my Dostoyevski line: "The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by observing its prisoners" and then saying "The degree of professionalism of a company can be judged by observing its treatment of rejected job candidates." A few times I have gotten letters from publications I had applied to asking me to order a subscription. I send back a letter like this: Dear XX: Thank you for sending me your company's latest offer (insert offer here). I have carefully reviewed it, and it is very impressive. Unfortunately, I receive a lot of offers from many publications, and I have chosen one that better suites my needs. I will keep your offer on file for the next year in case your product someday matches my literary requirements. Good luck with future subscription efforts...
