1989, specifically what the NWA was doing. You not only had Flair and Steamboat putting on some of the greatest matches ever, but had good workers in solid matches and feuds up and down the card; Sting, Luger, Muta, Liger, Pillman, The Midnight Express, The Steiner Brothers, the Varsity Club, Terry Funk. It not only seemed a lot more "edgier" and "real" to me than what the WWF was doing, but it's the point I started turning from a markish kid thinking wrestling was cool to someone who liked watching good matches and good wrestlers perform.

I am in total agreement. Nothing could ever top the NWA from 1989 for sheer star power and work rate. Everything they were doing was good and let's not forget that The Great American Bash of that year is still considered to be the greatest PPV of all time. Man, that brought back a lot of memories, The Varsity Club and Flair/Funk or Flair/Steamboat especially stick out in my mind.

WWF from 1987-1990 (WM 5 was the peak of my interest) stopped watching altogether for a while... a long while and fell back in around late 97 (WCW first and after awhile WWF) and watched it faithfully until about late 99...

I still drool over Hogan matches, I seriously think I have at least 6-12 hours of his matches on tape at least!
