David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2003 The lights would go out in the XWE arena. A voice then hit the house speakers that called for the fans to “Stand Back! Blazenwing’s comin’ at ya!” David Blazenwing would then run out from behind the curtain, getting a huge pop from the crowd as he stood on the stage, his XWE Television Championship gleaming around his waist. His mask was worn with pride, as was the cape and the rest of his outfit. So maybe the whole superhero gimmick was a bit cheesy. David didn’t care… it made the fans happy, and if the fans loved him, David loved life. But those days were long gone now. David currently sat on his bed, looking at the belt from Xtreme Wrestling Encounter that he wore with such pride, now absolutely worthless… but not to him. This belt meant that he could get it done in the ring. At least he used to be able to… Why was he decimated in his SJL debut match? He couldn’t understand it. He was the ONLY superstar to go through XWE with an undefeated winning streak, finally culminating in his winning the XWE TV Title on their flagship show, XWE Blackout. The match for the title was like none other. It was called “Hellbound”, a match devised by the owners of XWE, X and Dark Master. The match itself involved David, along with five other superstars (whose names escaped him at the moment) being locked in a steel cell with no escape. One by one the superstars fell, until only David and Viper remained. These two were partners in a super-stable called “Total Annihilation”. (Ahh, those were the days… David (the leader), his partner, Viper, his manager (and girlfriend) Tiffany and an old friend from HCW, Mark Nelson (better known to the fans as The Great Spicoleo). Anyways, as the superstars were eliminated, they were released from the cell. After David and Viper were the only two left, they scaled the cell to the top, where the TV Title rested high above the cell, reachable only by a ladder. Viper set up the ladder and the two climbed until they reached the top. It was then that David made the hardest decision of his life. He decided gold was more important than a friend, and sent Viper plummeting from the top of the ladder all the way through the roof of the cell, actually breaking a hole in the ring when he hit it! David grabbed the belt and the match was all over. Now, not even two months after that, he sat in his room, alone with his belt and his conscience. How did Omega Storm defeat him so horribly? David prided himself on his spotless record and now, after only one match, that goal is unattainable in the SJL. It hurt him inside, but at the same time, it inspired him to do even better. He desperately desired to hear the final bell ring and have HIS hand lifted in victory. David was well on his way to becoming XWE World Champion. That’s why the closing down of the company came as such a shock. At the upcoming pay-per-view, David was set to defend his belt against his former partner Viper in a casket match. He still remembered that morning like it was yesterday… It was a brisk, chilly day in December of 2002. David did what he did everyday – he grabbed his gear, slung his belt over his shoulder, put on his mask (in case anyone recognized him in public) and left his home, starting the car and driving to the airport. He flew from Milwaukee to Kansas City to make it to the show. He checked into his hotel room and slept, not knowing what would happen the next day at the PPV, XCW Retribution. He awoke the next morning, grabbed his stuff and drove to the arena with Tiffany and Mark. When they got there, Dark Master was running around furiously. All David heard were the words “Go home, there’s not gonna be a show” and, that’s just what the three did. That was the last time David ever heard from any of the XWE management. Apparently, from what he had read online (no one had the decency to call him), X had embezzled millions from the company, then disappeared suddenly, leaving the company with no money… and thus, no company. Because of one person’s selfishness, David’s great life had come to an abrupt halt. The happiest day of his life had been signing with the XWE. The second was signing with the SWF/SJL. Now, he has another chance to achieve greatness. Why was he sitting around moping over one stinking loss? So Storm was the better man… at least on that day. David knows, deep down, that the SJL is a whole different league apart from the XWE. He’s going to have to kick it up several notches if he wants to become a legitimate contender. As for Omega Storm… one day, maybe there will be a rematch. If there is, you’d better believe that the outcome will be different!
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Ohhh.. history. I like, good, good stuff. Maybe try playing with the style/format later on, but it's a good start. Can't wait to see some more stuff from all you new guys. Be ready for my return too. I must pimp that. Also, we have a chat page/script. Get on it!
Guest Crowe Report post Posted February 27, 2003 Maybe try playing with the style/format later on, but it's a good start. Exactly my thoughts, but it was entertaining and an interesting look at your character. As Dace said, try playing with your style a bit. The more you write, the better you get. Guest realitycheck Report post Posted February 27, 2003 Oh, hows I loves these characters with real backgrounds and such. Great stuff. Insight and history on a character is invaluable to later character development (Obviously), and to us playing at home. Plus, it's pretty nifty to boot. ;-) I will echo Crowe and Dace and say that evolving beyond the basic RP format would be welcome, but you'll pick up on that easy, from what I'm seeing. -Z

Yeah... That might be the match that makes me 1-10 or something... Nice promo. It flowed well. But... What do I know?
