Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted February 27, 2003 According to a few people I spoke with backstage at Smackdown on Tuesday, Paul Heyman wasn't visibly showing any affects of his recent demotion from being the lead writer of the Smackdown brand. In fact, he was still pushing for Rhyno to be brought back in a strong role. I heard from a few people that one of the agents at the show was telling the boys that Heyman's removal from the Smackdown creative team was the best thing for everyone in the long run because sooner or later, Heyman and Vince McMahon would have ended up in an altercation because they fought so much over storyline ideas. Some people also feel that Vince was turning down some of Heyman's ideas just because of how hard Heyman was fighting for them, so the two needed a break from each other. That will happen now that Heyman is off of the writing team. The same agent was heard telling people at Smackdown that Vince still wants Heyman to remain as part of the company. As we reported the other day, there are a lot of people in the company that weren't surprised to see Heyman get demoted, largely due to his sometimes combative nature. 1wrestling.com
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted February 27, 2003 I hope he sticks around. Being a writer as opposed to a booker is still a good thing. He'll make their shit smell a little better at least.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted February 27, 2003 Actually, he isn't a writer, booker, or anything right now. He is strictly talent and a consultant(i.e. watch and critique the shows, and give suggestions, most of which will not be used). You are confusing writer with booker. There is only one booker in WWE and that is Vince McMahon. Vince books the promotion and the creative team writes the shows. They assist him in the booking but he is the booker.
