Guest alkeiper Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Hey guys. I decided to make my own fantasy baseball league, since I like playing a few leagues each year. This is in addition to the other league being set up. Anyone from this forum is welcome to join, though only 9 slots are available. First come, first serve. It's a little more challenging then usual. Some of the guidlines I'm using..... -NL only league -At least one OF has to be a CF -5 pitchers out of 7 must be starters If anyone's interested, the league's on Yahoo. The League Name is "Unofficial SmartMarks League" and the password is "Smartmarks"
Guest alkeiper Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Oh yeah, the league ID# is 109928
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Is it free? If yes, I"ll join up.
Guest razazteca Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I joined your league as the BASEketball Beer
Guest jimmy no nose Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I added my team called The A Team, as it was for football. I'm not sure if I am in the other league or not, but it shouldn't be a problem.
Guest alkeiper Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 We've got 5 teams. There's space for another five yet. Yahoo lets you play multiple leagues, so you can join this one in addition to the official league.
Guest bravesfan Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 It says "Incorrect League Password" for me, when I'm signing up.
Guest alkeiper Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Try entering the password all lowercases.
Guest bravesfan Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 Yeah, that was the problem. I'm in as "BF's Bashers Deux".
Guest alkeiper Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 7 teams are in. I've got 3 more openings. First come, first served.
Guest alkeiper Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Still 3 spots left if anyone's interested. If not, I'll start setting up the draft.
Guest Stennick Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Hey guys I'm new here but I do fantasy baseball every year with a private league, this year none of them wanted to do it so I joined up with you guys. Looking forward to it. My team name is The Stennicks. Lata All, Stennick
Guest jonstreich Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Just a couple of questions: head to head or roto? would I be correct in assuming a min 20 games played in the previous season for a player to be in a certain position? what stats are being tracked?
Guest alkeiper Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Welcome aboard, Stennick JohnStreich, to answer your questions..... 1. Rotisserie 2. There's a 15 game minimum 3. On Base Percentage, Home Runs, Runs Scored, Runs Batted In, and Steals for hitters. ERA, Wins, Saves, Strikeouts, and WHIP for pitchers.
Guest alkeiper Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 Anyone else? If not, I'll set up the draft on Monday.
Guest alkeiper Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 Alright guys. For those of you in the league, I'm going to set the draft as ready sometime Monday. If anyone wants in, there's two spots left, but make sure you get your draft orders set ASAP.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 The draft already happened. I like my team. Guess ranking the players means something.
Guest razazteca Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 My team looks about average with a few big names but it looks like I will need another closer and a guy who can hit some Homeruns. I will consider some trades
Guest alkeiper Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 You'll want to find another 3B man. It looks like Nevin's out for the year.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Treavor Hoffman is out until August and Eric Millton could possibily be out 6 months.
Guest bravesfan Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Above-average team, with Schilling, Millwood, Leiter and Odalis shoring up my rotation, with Gagne closing it out. It looks like I will have two sluggers to carry my offense throughout the entire season -Bagwell and Helton.
Guest alkeiper Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Take a look at Brandon Larson. He's got serious power, and the Reds have him as their starting 3Bman this year. He won't be eligible as a #Bman until 15 games though.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Is this a joke? How did I end up with 6 Pittsburgh Pirates? Good thing I got the decent ones. I'd just like to add that my Griffey-Sosa-Giles outfield kills you all.
