Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 The Undertaker apparently pushed WWE management to allow him to feud with A-Train leading up to WrestleMania. WWE originally planned to have a feud between the Undertaker and Nathan Jones leading up to 'Mania, but that plan has been changed a bit as was the case on Smackdown this week. Credit: 1wrestling.com
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 So now we have Jones vs Big Show? Whoop-dee-fuckin-doo! Thanks Vince! Great investment that Nathan Jones!
Guest HartFan86 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Taker vs. A-Train at Mania. Why not have like Taker vs...someone not named A-Train.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Taker vs. Jones taker vs. Albert
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 I would LOVE if Vince made this a Heat match.
Guest tpww7 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Why does A-Train or Nathan Jones have to work Mania?
Guest commie_050 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Considering how bad Nathan Jones is said to be, this is actually a step up. Besides, if Taker absolutely has to beat someone at WM, I'd rather it be A-Train than someone talented.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Nooo... He politiced his way out of having to lose his winning streak.
Guest AndrewTS Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Better one shitty match than multiple shitty matches. Those hosses love to stick together. However, it says 1wrestling so whatthefuckever. It could be just B.S. It's not like it matters just who wanted this fued.

Besides, if Taker absolutely has to beat someone at WM, I'd rather it be A-Train than someone talented. IF you call Nathan Jones' showing last night a display of talent, then I really feel sorry for you. Taker probably is not yet 100% convinced that Jones is good enough to work with him. Maybe Taker is not comfortable working with a new talent. He knows Albert's work and has repeatedly said publicly that Albert is talented and has a future.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Good, put all the Hosses against each and stay away from the Work Rate Fellows.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 They should somehow work Rikishi and Demott into this feud so we really get one big pile of shit.
Guest AndrewTS Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Welcome back, Buffy! Haven't seen you in a long time. From what I've heard about Jones, he isn't even as good as Albert--although he does look better. However, as RD said in a recent mailbag, hosses like to see other hosses succeed. I don't think he really thinks Albert is all that great. Still, I'm shocked that Vince will let guys like Taker ruin his plans for pushing his golden boys.
Guest AndrewTS Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 They should somehow work Rikishi and Demott into this feud so we really get one big pile of shit. Yeah--a four-way match that gets a minute, tops.
Guest Nevermortal Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 I think they're leading up to Taker/Jones v. Show/Albert in the piss break match of the century. Unless they make it a street fight or something that doesn't involve much actual wrestling.

Unless they make it a street fight or something that doesn't involve much actual wrestling. And then Nathan Jones will turn heel. Why did they build him up as such a heel and then bring him in as a face?
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Check out 1wrestling's verbal blowjob of Undertaker: by Dave Scherer Updated: 2/28/2003 1:55:14 PM Last weekend I wondered what Undertaker, after his great performance at No Way Out, "did to deserve" having to work a feud with A Train. As it turns out, sources have told me that Taker wants to do the program and may have even suggested it. People can say what they want about Taker, but he is a legitimate locker room leader in my opinion.
Guest teke184 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 This is one of those situations where it will HOPEFULLY become win/win. The way I'm looking at it, either Taker's winning streak will end and his political power will come to an end along with it or Albert will lose favor with the office and possibly get fired.
Guest creativename Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 People can say what they want about Taker, but he is a legitimate locker room leader in my opinion. How come that all columnists writing about Taker have to bring up the "locker room leader" thing? It's beyond comical at this point.
Guest Nanks Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 No chance at all that none of you have any fuckin idea what Taker's like behind the scenes and that he is in fact a real leader in the locker room?? Besides all that, I wouldn't be surprised if heel Jones destroyed A-Train next week in order to get to his ultimate aim Taker.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Um...Do you have anyhing to offer saying that he is a locker room leader or is your tenure on this board going to be fighting conjecture with heresay?
Guest Nanks Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Several WWE Superstars, particularly new guys, have named Taker as one of the guys who always has time for them and is willing to help. None of them have said, however, that he picks and chooses who he gets to go over or any of the rest of that shit.
Guest Trivia247 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 As a Resident Taker Fan, but with some ability to be a bit objective... Undertaker didn't want Nathan Jones Intially because in order to Push Nathan as a Monster, you have to have him SQUASH someone monsterously, and seeing how the Next PPV is WM that would be ideal point for Nathan to Squash...However...Since Undertaker is now 10-0 at Wrestlemania its a Safe bet that he wants to jealously hold on to his WM record....He could lose every PPV match as long as he wins at WM. So He chooses A Train... Albert is someone beatable at a Wrestlemania... and Undertaker wants that route.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Yeah I bet Awesome, DDP, Spanky, Kanyon and The Hardyz have nothing but good things to say about how Taker turned them into superstars!
Guest Nanks Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Yeah, Awesome was so good that he's just popping up all over the place now that he's not with WWE. DDP was in his 40s when he go to WWE, hardly young talent. That was not Kanyon's "big return", he's still working OVW, waiting for a role. Do you think Taker asked them to send him in so he could hit him with a chair?? Pfft. Spanky was hardly out there to look strong riding a little bike and singing was he? Would it have made the slightest bit of sense for the singing telegram to beat him up?!? In what possible way has Taker "held down" either of the Hardyz?? Don't say the Jeff v Taker feud, that made Jeff look like a nutter. It was good for him.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Even though Taker could be an ass sometimes when it's about putting young talent over, at least he had a great match with RVD back when he was the world champion and made Rob look good at the same time, compare to HHH he is the lesser of 2 evils.

I don't know what is more ironic and / or hilarious about your post: the idea of Undertaker being negative towards another's workrate, or the statement that Albert is talented and has a future in this business. Even though Taker could be an ass sometimes when it's about putting young talent over, at least he had a great match with RVD back when he was the world champion and made Rob look good at the same time, compare to HHH he is the lesser of 2 evils. I know not this match of which you speak. Actually, I do - I saw the match - I'm just disputing your assertion that Taker made Rob look good.
Guest treble charged Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Probably in how RVD, despite being beat up and bloodied earlier in the night by Taker, was able to come back and 'beat' the Undertaker. Add to that the fact that Undertaker really didn't seem like he wanted the title to be on the line when he had to face RVD. The ending of that match didn't do any wonder for Rob, but up until that he was made to look sort of strong.
Guest Creepy Crawl Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 As long as it isnt another Taker squash Ill be cool with it .

Several wrestlers including Taker have repeatedly stated that Albert will be a huge star in the business someday. Welcome back, Buffy! Haven't seen you in a long time. I've been lurking more or less. I've been really busy with school as of late.
