MEET CASEY JONES: Raphael is a little cooped up underground with only his brothers and Master Splinter. When Raphael almost clobbers Michelangelo in some brotherly sparring, it's pretty apparent that Raphael needs to get out — let off a little steam. But, when he meets up with Casey Jones, a vigilante erring a little to the right of justice, Raphael must face the reality of his own hothead ways. Luckily, the two hotheads learn to work together when they find themselves in a Purple Dragons' trap set specifically for Casey in the dark, desolate wilds of Central Park

Very excellent show.

 

I liked them just beating the crap out of each other at the end while throwing the insults.

 

Nice to see a good amount of continuity for the show.

 

It'll be interesting to see where that elevator mystery goes.

Very interesting indeed.

 

And I like very much so how the two vehicles, the Armored Car and the Shell-Cycle, are extremely realistic. They pretty much just did minor adjustments to the appearance of the Armored Car, and the Shell-Cycle just seems to be a little larger than your average motorcycle.

 

Very, very good way to give Casey Jones a reason for being a vigilante. In the original comic, did they ever give Casey a reason for being the way he is? I know in the original cartoon there wasn't a reason (at least I don't believe there was), and a reason was never given in the movie.

 

Anybody else wish they got the actor that played Casey Jones in the movie (I forget his name, but he also was in Fallen as the death-row inmate, and in The Prophecy as the cop)? Whenever I think "Casey Jones," I remember the line from the movie:

"Your instructor's Casey Jones."

It was a good episode and Casey Jones was always my favorite character so it was even better to me.

I actually woke up at 9:35 this morning..in the nick of time, so to speak. Good episode, and Casey F'n Jones was in it, which made it great.

I think this is the lowest turnout of posts we've had for a TMNT episode. Is the Hogan like nostagia wearing off for those of us who grew up loving them?

 

I personally found the mystery elevator to be a silly plot device, but if they explain it in the upcoming weeks, I'll let it slide.

I keep forgetting to tape it. Sadness, especially since the only episode I've seen was the debut.

I got a total Akira vibe from some of the motorcycle shots, especially the sideways skid, but I'm going to be charitable and count that as a tribute, rather than a crib.

Also, a million points for the characters' flashes of self-awareness re: the dialogue in the previous series.

I guess a lot of people miss the show. This time, I woke up at 9:00am. I realized it started 10:30. I woke up too early. At least I saw the episode, which was ANOTHER great TMNT.

How come everyone seemingly forgets all about that new invention that's called VCR?

 

Most of you talk about waking up early to watch it. Heeellooo McFly set your VCR to record it and then watch it when you wake up at a decent hour.

I think the show is great. And no, this isn't a gimmick account. Casey Jones has always been my favorite turtles character.
