Guest tombstone Report post Posted March 19, 2002 how do you arrange a world title shot when guys from both 'extensions' will want the shot, but cannot fight each other for it?? Also will one extension have rights to the championships whose champions they draft eg: if ric flair picks RVD will the Intercontinental title only be fought over by guys on the RAW roster?? The same applies for the European, Hardcore, Cruiserweight titles. I thought that come the split, perhaps the WWF champion would be pan - roster (or they could seperate the belts, leading to a totally sepearte promotion with its own PPvs) I thought that the US title could return for one 'extension' and one could take the hardcore title and the other the cruiserweight title. This could lead toa distinction in the TV shows with Vince's being all Big bastards and hardcore and more sports - entertainment (top picks Rock - Hogan - Hall - nash - Undertaker - kane) while Flair's would be more wrestling oriented (top picks would be Angle - Austin - Benoit - Jericho) So I ask my smarky brethren, hows this gonna work. Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 19, 2002 If we thought there were gaps in WWF logic before, I think the rules of the split will set a new record for confusion.
Guest Jokir Report post Posted March 19, 2002 scary thought... maybe Linda McMahon misspoke and meant mens' titles would be defended on both shows, meaning all of them. This would mean the Billy+Chuck get to be on both shows at once, as does Maven....
Guest converge241 Report post Posted March 19, 2002 Hopefully they will clarify a little on Smackdown or some other show. I think it will end up like this: World , World Tag (becuase there are so few teams to support two tag champs), and Women's (ditto) defended against all comers. IC and Euro only on one (maybe a change to the US title??) Hardcore on one show, with all the "hardcore" wrestlers Cruiserweight on one show, with all the cruiserweights
Guest Scarecrow Report post Posted March 19, 2002 Longtime lurker, first time responder... I was wondering the same thing, until the end of Raw last night. You don't suppose that they are going to have Stephanie and Jerico win next week, and then have them each hold a title for each division (Steph having the WCW title in one division and Jerico the WWF title in the other)? BTW, I really enjoy the conversations/analysis here at the smarks. As a person who frequented that other wrestling board that decided to charge me $20 so I could see other peoples opinions, the people here are much more 'intelligent'. I thank you guys! Guest Report post Posted March 19, 2002 The whole split is pretty dumb. The whole fun of WWF buying out WCW was to see all the different wrestlers working matches that you never seen before. If they split and never really mix the rosters, it would be like having two feds all over again. Also, how are they going to work PPVs now? I don't know, I just feel forming two rosters is going to be a mistake. -OverClock
