Guest Mik at Cornell Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Good to see Shanghai Knights doing well, 50 mil is a pretty decent take and it will probably end with like 60-65, which is good. Also glad to see Old School not die out in its second week.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Take THAT DareDevil! Old School will be #1 in a week or two, it's one of those movies that everybody tells their friends about.
Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Old School is going to be one on of those movies that makes 10-18 million every week but never gets #1 but quietly grosses 150 million.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Hey man, if you're just going to swipe the box office gimmick out from under me (which I had for a while) then get on the ball. You missed last week. Anyway NTB420 Prediction: "Cradle 2 The Grave" opens up at Number 1. 19 - 22 Million. A little off on that one. And to round out the top 12: 11 Dark Blue $2,150,000/$7,500,000 12 The Hours $2,035,000/$33,016,000 And I'm glad DD is taking a bump, I just saw it and I wasn't overly impressed.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 11 Dark Blue $2,150,000/$73,500,000 12 The Hours $2,035,000/$33,016,000 There is no F'n Way that Dark Blue has made 73 million.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Oops. Came up short on my prediction, still did well though.

Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Does Tears Of The Sun remind anyone of Black Hawk Down ? Crew goes to Foreign Country for Rescue Mission, out comes the Locals who wants them dead, Crew, stuck in ememy territory must struggle for survival. Either way, T.O.T.S. looks decent and I will check it out.

Either way, T.O.T.S. looks decent and I will check it out. Blackhawk is mostly based on a true story, I don't know if that's the same for the other one.
Guest Lethargic Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 11 Dark Blue $2,150,000/$73,500,000 12 The Hours $2,035,000/$33,016,000 There is no F'n Way that Dark Blue has made 73 million. I know..it's probably a typo on someone elses part...I'll fix it in my post Too many 0's. It's 7,350,000. I don't see how Shanghai Knights only making 50 is good. Seems like a bomb to me. They spent 75 on it so if it only makes back 60-65, that's not even a profit.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Really, I had no idea it had that big of a budget. Fellowship only had a 97 million dollar budget and seemed much more expensive. If that is true then I agree with you...it's a bomb.
Guest MrRant Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Damn DMX... damn him straight to hell. But I like Jet Li.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 What's Dark Blue about? Picture 1/2 Training Day, and 1/2 The Shield (on FX), then throw Kurt Russle into the mix.
Guest DrTom Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 What's Dark Blue about? It's set just before the LA race riots in 1992, when the cops accused of beating Rodney King were acquitted. Kurt Russell (long underrated, IMO) plays a corrupt detective with a rookie partner, and Ving Rhames is some high muckety-muck in the LAPD.
Guest razazteca Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I predict that nothing will change next week as Steve Martin is not a big draw and Bruce Willis war movies do not bring in the money either. Both will bomb making less than 4 Million a piece.

If that is true then I agree with you...it's a bomb. According to Box Office Mojo it cost 50 but marketing was another 25. I was hoping it would do better. It wasn't even #1 on it's opening weekend was it?
Guest Zero_Cool Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Nah, it opened up at number two, right behind the Kate Hudson chick flick. It was beaten by like a few million.
Guest redbaron51 Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I think DD did better than expected to do
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 Can anyone take over the Report tomorrow ? I have some things to do and I won't around.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Got it...even though I did it first and you swiped it from under me one day.
