Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted March 2, 2003 (edited) Ok, we all know how misused Chris Jericho among others were in WCW. And we all know how Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash were NOT big fans of his work and/or extremely jealous of his potential star power. However, he was given lengthy CW and TV title reigns in 1998 and a teased feud with The WCW Champion. So, who exactly was behind Jericho getting a big push? Someone had to of seen something special in him. Did Bischoff like him until Hogan and Nash tell him he didn't? Any help would be appreciated. EDIT --- It's my one year anniversary of joining. Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted March 2, 2003 Jericho's problems started when he challenged Goldberg. Basically, up to that, he had been given 10 minutes to go out there and shoot his own angle, which got him over in the first place. When he challenged Goldberg, certain..."outsiders" got in his ear and said that Goldberg didn't do comedy. Hence the shitcanning of that and Jericho burial No.1. He then refused to sign a new contract
Guest JHawk Report post Posted March 3, 2003 Bischoff said something after Jericho's Undisputed WWF Title win that "We didn't feel Jericho was good enough to hide Goldberg's weaknesses." Like Hogan and Nash were or something. So basically, Jericho was punished for hyping a match that people were actually hoping to see. I even know marks who were looking forward to it, if only because marks wanted to see Jericho get his ass kicked. Which, for the record, was Jericho's job...get people to pay to see you get your ass kicked.
