Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Well I guess if the ratings go up at all, he will try and take some credit, but he has got to know in his head he has/will have NOTHING to do with it. He is out there spouting off about how he is the be all and end all of wrestling and the best this, best that, and he aint even the main event of his own show, and he is the champ for crying out loud. I bet his ego is hurting right now. It does seem kind of weird that Rock/Austin is getting a bigger push than the RAW WWE(not WWF, remember Austin) championship match, but as of now, there is no way they can elevate a Booker T/HHH match over the Austin/Rock showdown. Guest edotherocket Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Why would he care? The Rock leaves soon and Austin will probably end up on Smackdown. Ratings may go up and it might not have anything to do with the guy but that doesn't change the fact that he has secured his position as champion for the rest of his career by marrying Steph. Guest edotherocket Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Before any anti-anti HHHaters take me to task, I don't mean he will literally hold the title for the rest of his career. He will drop it for one month occasionally or be in a main event feud that supercedes the RAW title match in importance and air time.
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted March 4, 2003 With the Booker T/Rock match scheduled for next week, I reckon there's an outside chance of us seeing a Booker/Rock/HHH/Austin match at Wrestlemania.
Guest jester Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Well they did work in a lot more HHH than they have in the past few weeks. He got to come out and ridicule Booker, and nearly buried him on the mike. (What a difference the Rock makes. He actually let Hurricane get a few shots on him and not look 100% dominant). Â HHH also had that pointless limp-in during the Steiner/Booker match. If they are going with a Booker/HHH program this does not make sense, since Booker was the one who benefited from the limp-in. If they are doing Steiner/HHH again, then they are totally insane. Â HHH has not been able to beat Steiner clean. They could have built up Booker by giving a clean win and then hyping how he did what HHH couldn't do, but nooooo... Â And finally, what the hell was the offer by Bischoff? Rock wins his next match, he has a choice of facing Austin or HHH? That makes no sense. First, if you're offered a title shot and you don't take it, that makes your belt look weak (weaker actually, this is the cliqueweight belt we're talking about). Second, what's to stop the Rock from just fighting Austin anyway? Does Rock really hate Austin that much that he'd give up a title shot? Â By the way, if any of this leads to a Booker heel turn, I am very off WWE for awhile.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 He probably feels sad. Like Carpathian Kitten Loss. Â Oh, come on. I know I'm not the only one that sees similarities between HHH and Prince Vigo! Â Â At any rate, he certainly didn't seem like he wanted to be on the stick last night. That was a really . . . s l o w . . . interview with Booker. But I'm also sure he knows he'll have to deal with the fact that Rock and Austin = Main Event pretty much wherever they go.
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 4, 2003 So. Vince/Hogan is going to take precedent over the SmackDown title match too.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I don't care what Triple H feels. He can go to hell ... he can go to hell and he can die. Â ...Although he did cut a great promo last night on Booker T and got the fans even more behind the challenger. Of course, now we'll feel the sting of defeat even more when 'Mania comes and goes and Triple Ego still has his belt.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Oh, come on. I know I'm not the only one that sees similarities between HHH and Prince Vigo! Does this mean that guy from Ally McBeal is going to join Evolution?
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 4, 2003 ...Although he did cut a great promo last night on Booker T and got the fans even more behind the challenger… I didn't get that at all. HHHeMan buried Booker T. Didn't let him get a word in edge-wise for a good six or seven minutes, using every veiled racial remark in the book, cutting down all his accomplishments and effectively depantsing him in front of the entire audience. And Booker T's response? An impotent threat to take his title at WM.  To quote Groundskeeper Willie, "Och! Good comeback!"  The fans didn't buy it at all, and it only made HHHeMan look nigh unflappable and all-powerful, as if Flair's old mute BabaBooey routine didn't do that already. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 The whole interview was to set up Bookers 'underdog' win. To identify him with all the fans... You know, the same thing that HHH did with RVD, Jericho, and Kane. He didn't say it but he was saying what he always says "you're not in my league". And what happened to RVD, Jericho and Kane when they lost? Â HHH is trying to save face with the boys - he won't be making any powerplays for a while now. But he will try to sabotage Bookers title run fo sho.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Oh, come on. I know I'm not the only one that sees similarities between HHH and Prince Vigo! Does this mean that guy from Ally McBeal is going to join Evolution? I could so see Flair taking on that role. Remember that guy (Peter MacNichol?) visiting Dana after the blackout?  "Oh, but I WHOO'ed!"  Gold, I tell you. Gold.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Does Flair really need money so bad ? Great wrestling champion turned into Trips' coffee boy, you could tell Flair hates it when Trips pretends to be like him.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I don't think Flair needs money but he justs likes the Limelight and he'll take any way he can... Â However, I really thought they did a good job here with the promo...It clearly makes Booker an Lovable underdog...Notice he emphatically said "I'M GOING TO WRESTLE MANIA!"...Showing how important this event is too him...It's just like the Patriots over the Rams... Â Good Promo and all you guys can do is quickly think "BURY"...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 But Booker saying "you're right on some things" doesn't help - neither does the racism.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Racism actually in this case...If Booker plays it off well...could work. It would be an good "Overcome" story that Hollywood just loves...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Racism in any case doesn't work - it makes fans feel uncomfortable. Are they booing HHH because he is white?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 4, 2003 This is different then D'Lo or Nation...Here the "Underdog" is the Black guy and it really adds good heat...they already dispise HHH anyways...it's not any different... Â Trust Me it's better then saying "Yo Man, Your goons made Goldy all weird and stuff, So I oughta Kick your BUTT"... Â "I'm the game uh"
Guest jester Report post Posted March 4, 2003 HHH shat all over Booker in that promo. Made him look insignificant. Â This can all be made well by Booker beating HHH clean at Wrestlemania. Or, if HHH returns the favor next week and allows Booker to mow him down on the mike. I'm worried neither will happen. Â Meanwhile, on the same show, Rock insulted Hurricane, but he got as good as he gave. Even if Rock were to win a match against Hurricane, he wouldn't look like a total bitch. Whereas if HHH beats Booker now, Booker will look inferior in every way.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Does Flair really need money so bad ? Great wrestling champion turned into Trips' coffee boy, you could tell Flair hates it when Trips pretends to be like him. Flair is a whore. He'll put up with any shit from management for a paycheck, and back in the day he'd just clam up until management would come crawling back to him. Â I guess that's what you'd call a "company man" but I just call a whore.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I have no problem with HHH saying that Booker in an entertainer and mocking the spinaroonie - it allows Booker to become more serious and move past that state in his career. The Racist stuff was just to put heat on HHH - like the necrophilia angle.

The Racist stuff was just to put heat on HHH - like the necrophilia angle. So, HHH has to be a cross-burning Nazi or has to simulate fucking a mannequin representing a corpse to get any kinda heat? Â There's your underlying problem. Â Shut the fuck up and entertain me again Hunter. I liked you better when you were HHH's bitch and telling dick jokes. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Booker seriously needs to stop fumbling over words and ghettoing his promos up. I think he needs more guidelines as far as what to say to pace an interview correctly. It's been a long time since he's been the focus of a program enough to warrant a long promo spot in the ring. He should have had more fire and intensity towards HHH, but repeated himself and left. Â I blame Booker for that promo not being so great. HHH did his thing, and that is his character, he's not going to be the over the top heel who puts over people like the Rock, he's going to play the role of God and try and bury everyone. The faces should recognize this and try and prove him worng, not back down. Â I don't think HHH himself would have any problem with his opponents trying to fight back on the stick, as long as he can say whatever he wants to and at least attempt to dominate the interview. Booker was Hunter's bitch, not the underdog. And I think it was Booker's lack of microphone skills or just his rust from not being in the spotlight coming into play. Guest Brian Report post Posted March 4, 2003 HHH's monotone, rascist, "you're not in my league" with Booker agreeing with him and the further burying of WCW's corpse with the cheap shot at Russo was good?
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I know this has no chance in hell of happening, but Book will defeat the Rock. And I'm talking he beats Rocky clean. No Criple H running in to ruin things, no Austin getting Rocky... I'm talking Book beats Rock for the 1...2...3... Â As I said, I know it'll never happen, but for some reason, my gut is telling me that yes, Criple H will try and disrupt the match and help Rock beat Book (heck, it would make it look like Criple H feel threatened by the guy who beat him cleanly, and I'm talking Book, not Rock). However, instead of Criple H making it to the ring, Austin appears out of nowhere and stunners Criple H. Â All the while, Book hits the Book End (oh yes~!) on Rocky and gets the win. Thus, Book looks like a damned good threat as he just beat the 7 time WWE Champion. And on the plus side, Austin gets Rocky after the match. Â It could happen~! I mean, if Rock's willing to make Hurricane look like gold, I doubt that he's not willing to make Book look like a Champion.

I was one of the WCW followers near the end of it's life, and he was really great with promos. Â Yet it HAS been almost 2 years since then, so it's not like he can just pick up where he left off. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted March 4, 2003 There is nothing worng, imo, with a "top teir" guy belittling his challenger and trying (keyword) to break his spirit. Most people really hate HHH's slow and plodding interviews but they don't bother me much. I'm basically saying that Booker could have easily saved this interview had he interrupted some or tried to retort. HHH paused many times, and I think even HE thought Booker would fire back, then he would continue his little spiel. Booker seriously should return to his interview style while new WCW champion (minus the horrible Rock like catch phrases) and stop trying to sound like he's still in Harlem Heat.
