Invictus Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I hate how everything has to be an angle. They simply can't just let Kurt come and say he is injured legimately and bow out. They have to keep it in some stupid storyline. Knowing WWE they will probably do something to Kurt to make him look even worse as he's leaving, they've done nothing but crap all over him since his fued with Lesnar started. Garbage. Oh God. I've figured it out. The absolute STUPIDEST way to explain kurt not bring Champion and being out for a long while ruining Kurt in every way possible and offending as many people as they can. They're gonna kill him off. Haha, I can sadly see them doing something like that at this point. However it's not complete unless it's Brock Lesnar who does the deed and does so effortlessly, just to humilate Kurt one last time. Only then will it fit as a current WWE storyline. I just hope and pray they don't actually force/let Kurt wrestle in any sort of match before he leaves. I'd hate for him to be crippled for life.

Guest Retro Rob Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 You either have him forfeit the title or else have Benoit beat him, building some sort of credibility for a match with Lesnar at Mania. Angle can handle a loss to Benoit and then leave for a year, I don't see anything wrong with that. And how is Angle going to wrestle Benoit exactly?
Guest HartFan86 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Dude....HE WAS JOKING ABOUT SCOTTY 2 HOTTY. Calm the fuck down and read things for once.
Guest Eagan469 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 wait - maybe Scotty just returned and he's watching the live feed? that's the only reasoning I can come up with
Guest tpww7 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Wrestlezone has the Hogan and Cena portions.

Just make it a short match, if not hardly a match at all. I think if they did a quick thing with Angle coming up from behind Benoit with a swing and Benoit immediately ducks and then gets him in the Crossface (and then goes to a typical Benoit-Angle series of reversals with that) which makes Angle taps that work work. I'll even take that a step further and say Angle actually sells something from the neck injury during the Crossface, like say Benoit has him in it and all of a sudden Angle screams about his neck, taps and then is even carried out on a stretcher. Would get Benoit super over leading to Mania w/ Lesnar as he would not just beat Angle but injure him from his finishing move.

You want him to have a match that basically puts pressure on his neck the ENTIRE time. Don't even bother.

His neck is fucked six ways from Sunday...he's not going to be even touched for the next year.

The crossface!? Are you insane? Youngblood was specific in saying Kurt CANNOT WRESTLE AT ALL. Just have him come out next week and give a speech saying he won't be able to compete due to a legitimate injury. It's so incredibly simple. Then just have a tournament to decide lesnar's challenger and have both men compete for the title at WM. Done.
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 ...Oh. My bad. Sorry guys, I'm not feeling that well tonight. I'm a little under the weather.

Benoit could easily protect Angle enough to not cause any further injury to his neck. That move isn't such that Benoit is always legitimately pulling on the head and neck........all Benoit would have to do to protect Angle is to let him have full control of the move, its not very hard when you have two consomant pros in there really, even with the situation as it is. We don't even know what the deal is with Angles neck anyway, who says he can't move his neck back a little bit? If it was such a big thing that they couldnt touch the neck, just think of any leg submission move (maybe to get ironic and play to the story, use the same move Angle did to beat Benoit at Rumble) and Angle screams in pain that something is broke in his leg, knee, whatever you want. Play up the past knee injury or something then in that case. Angle "broke* S2H's ankle and he was out for a year as well (and didn't he have the neck injury problem as well?) so this could work the same way.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Forget an injury angle. Forget a match. Just do something with class. Angle seems to be the kind of guy who'll do anything to keep his belt..because he respects it that much. Just have him vacate the damn thing, and put the winner of a tournament (or whatever) against Lesnar at WM.
Invictus Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Heaven forbid that WWE actually remind the fans that they are watching a WRESTLING show and that WRESTLERS sustain legitimate injuries from WRESTLING. Goodness, we can't do that. We need to set up some elaborate way for someone to leave for an injury.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 'cept it's not Wrestling anymore. It's Sports Entertainment.

Angle gets taken out tonight...Angle comes out on SD in his hometown next week, forefits the title ala HBK, and makes his fairwell speech. Puts Angle over huge as a sympthetic babyface (Trust me...fans will remember when he returns) and it makes Benoit a heel monster instantly.

Guest tpww7 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 VERY intense promo between Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. Everything from the creator of Hulkamania, to the creator of WrestleMania, and even Vince McMahon's steroid trial was brought up. "Bulls*t artist", "son of a bitch", "dillusional coward" and everything in between was said. Bottom line, Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon agree to a fight, not a match, at the biggest stage of them all. Hogan and McMahon agree to a fight at WrestleMania X9.
Guest juvvy Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Backstage, Kurt Angle is shown complaining to Paul Heyman. Angle was telling Heyman that no matter what he has to win tonight, or else he has to defend his WWE title in a one-on-one match against Brock Lesnar next week on SmackDown! The steel cage match between Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman is up next
Guest HartFan86 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 The Hogan/Vince confrontation sounds like a must-see.
Invictus Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I doubt WWE can do anything with class anymore. I'm sure the eventual angle will involve Angle caught beating an old lady while stealing from a blind man and mutilating a dog. And then someone will injure him whilst he does his dastardly deeds... and just to make things "WWE Style", that person will be Mae Young. That should make it embarrassing enough. And, on the plus side, it lets Angle leave for his neck. Hooray! Gotta save that heel heat, eh WWE?

I'm going to be there, and even though Angle won't wrestle, I'm going to love to be there for his last WWE appearance of 2003. I hope that's what they do.
