That why I also like the idea of separte PPV's as well. I like the fact that they'll have to build angles and matches up for longer periods of time, which will make them more meaningful and exciting. The WWE has invested to much time and money into this concept and it WILL be completly worked out in due time. Rock is leaving within a month or two and may not be coming back. Angle and Edge are out for a year. Orton is out for at least 2 months and Batista's out for 6 months. (They're treated as top guys due to their association with Trips) Austin may not stick around if they screw with him like this time last year. Triple H and Undertaker are walking advertisements for orthopedic surgery. Hogan may not be around past Mania and is NOT a viable ME guy anyway When you look at it, there are almost NO healthy guys near the top of the card and there doesn't appear to be anyone that the office is willing to push to that level... unless you count A-Train, who's been proven worthless, and Nathan Jones, who's green and hasn't proven to be worth the trouble he's been so far. If nothing else, they need to scrap the split house shows and go back to one single house show per night. That will give them enough to stock one good card per night and, as a result, draw more with one show than they were with two pathetic cards. Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Well, with Angle now out and the proposed title match agains Lesnar at WM officially wrecked, I just realized something: The streak of the Fantastic Four is going to live on. Either Austin, Rock, HHH or Undertaker has participated in EVERY PPV main event dating back to January 1998. That's 62 shows in a row. This streak was fixing to be snapped with Lesnar vs. Angle at WM, but with that trashed, I'd say the Fantastic Four streak looks to be back in business. Lately, shows have had less time to be built up do to them having half as much time as pre-brand extension. When i watch wrestling id like to see the same thing on 3 days later. Plus, the titles are pretty much meaningless now. Especially the World Title.Even the WWE title has less meaning. although it would lead to a lot of guys getting cut, i think its time for WWE to trim the fat. I just worry if they ended the brand extension theyd get rid of ppl like Knoble instead of ppl like Albert. Hogan vs. Vince was the scheduled main event for awhile. Anyway, as for the thinning roster, maybe now would be a good time to push some more people. RAW Steve Austin- For whatever reason, I have a feeling he will stick on Raw and have a big say in the writing, which would be a VERY good thing. Chris Jericho- Hopefully he'll go over Michaels at 'Mania. That should reestablish him as a maineventer. Rob Van Dam- Split him off of Kane and FINALLY get behind him 100%. Booker T- Put him over HHH at 'Mania and he should become a legitimate Superstar. Triple H- He's not going anywhere. Kane- He could have another heel run. Sure he won't win any titles, but he could be an effective heel. Shawn Michaels- The guy is over, so why not keep him around for PPV matches. SMACKDOWN Benoit- He is the most talented guy in the company now that Angle is out. Based on his Rumble match, he should be the man with the title. Brock- He is a fucking force to be reckoned with. Team Angle- May as well give them a shot at the big time. They have the heat from their association with Angle and the talent to work with Benoit and Brock. Undertaker- He seems to have at least 6 months left in the tank. This should be the time to start jobbing him out to younger guys. Cena- Very funny gimmick they he pulls off to a tee. They teased a feud with Brock, so they should follow it through and see where it goes. Matt Hardy- He could easily become the biggest heel on SmackDown!. You don't neccessarily have to be a great wrestler or a big guy to have a successful heel run on top. Just ask Roddy Piper. Then of course there are Goldberg and Sting who I don't want to see get signed, but probably will. This situation reminds me of 1995-1997 when the WWF lacked main eventers, so they started making new stars like Triple H, the Rock and Steve Austin. It looks like that part of the cycle is back. While Hurricane is far from a superfantabulous main eventer, he's certainly one of the most popular on the RAW roster, IMO. He can be put over without a win. Hell, that he got in a few choice hits during the Battle Royal already gives him a little steam to continue hurri-chuggung along with. And his interviews with Rocky? IMO, they singlehandedly saved RAW two episodes back, and were a major factor in my satisfaction with it this past Monday. Hurricane can get nestled into the upper mid-card easily, I think. Either WWE is planning to make major changes to the lineup, or they simply want to leave fans guessing now that the word is out about Kurt Angle's injury. What do you consider as a PPV main events though? The last match on the card and the world title match? I'm pretty sure Angle and Big Show closed out the December PPV.
