Today, Matthew Good released his first record since the demise of the Matthew Good Band. And it is simply phenomenal. We're not talking the generic Nickelback/Theory of A Deadman cookie cutter Canadian artists here, we're talking about one of the most artisically gifted musicans out there, with breathtaking symphonies with strings and keyboards and melodic guitar rock, Avalanche is nothing short of fantastic. Lyrically and musically, i doubt anything that comes out this year is going to touch this..... Those interested can check out: a clip site that are aobut a minute long. first track dosent work, but "21st Century Living", "Near Fantastica" and "Double Life" are my current favourites to check out. Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Edge 102 in Toronto had the world album premiere of it last night and I listened to the entire fucking thing at work, not doing anything unless customers needed help. Good is God. I'll still take Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip over him in terms of lyric writing but musically Good is easily the most talented musician this country has to offer.
