RAW - 12/24/01

 

All the cruiserweights are in the ring. X-Pac and Ric Flair come down to the ring with the trophy. Flair gets in the ring and grabs the mic. Ric says it is with great honor that he gives this trophy to Tajiri. Flair rants on how Vince decided not to appear for the trophy presentation, and how disrespectful he has always been to a cruiserweight division. X-Pac grabs the mic from Flair and says finally X-Pac has brought the title to the scene. Flair interrupts X-Pac and tells X-Pac to show some respect. X-Pac backs off, and Flair presents Tajiri with the trophy. Flair also gives Tajiri a contract to sign for the title match, but X-Pac jumps Tajiri as he signs it. They brawl until the wrestlers pull them apart.

Juventud tells Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, and Chavo backstage that he’s happy that he’s getting his shot at Tajiri again.

 

O’Haire & Palumbo vs. the Impact Players

Palumbo pins Justin Credible after a double superkick at 7:26.

Eddie runs into Shamrock in the hallway. He tells Shamrock not to blow it again like Monday, because Regal’s good enough to take control in an instant.

 

Tajiri vs. Juventud

Juventud beats Tajiri with a Juvi driver at 9:12 after X-Pac distracted Tajiri on the apron.

 

Rey is in the back being interviewed. He says that he’s happy that Juventud beat the number one contender, but since the champ is here tonight, he wants a shot at the title. X-Pac passes by in the hall, grabs the mic, and says that if Rey wants a fight, he’d better get ready.

Shamrock/Eddy vs. Test/Regal

Shamrock has Regal in the anklelock but Angle runs to the ring and is fought off. Shamrock returns only to get hit by a big boot for the pin at 7:28.

Intercontinental Championship

Christian vs. Raven

Christian wins at 6:55 after he runs Raven into an exposed turnbuckle and finishes him with the down ward spiral. Christian gets on the mic and says that Edge better be prepared because he knows Edge’s offense better than his brother does.

Jericho Invitational for the WCW Championship

RVD vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho walks down to the ring with a mic. He says RVD’s beat him in the past in “his” environment, but now Jericho is going to prove how one-sided RVD really is. Jericho wins at 10:48 when Booker T hits RVD with the belt and RVD passes out while in the Walls. Booker kisses the belt, than hands it to Jericho in the ring.

HHH tells Michael Cole that tonight will be his rumble warm-up.

 

Cruiserweight Championship

X-Pac defeats Rey Mysterio Jr. at 7:39 after Tajiri runs in and misses X-Pac hitting Rey with a superkick; allowing X-Pac to push Tajiri out of the ring and roll-up Rey. Tajiri gets in the ring and helps Rey up but Rey pushes him away. X-Pac taunts both men at the top of the stage.

Austin/Booker T vs. HHH

Booker T pins Triple H at 8:03 after valiantly trying to fight off the double-team only to be hit with the bookend. Austin grabs a chair at ringside and heads into the ring, but RVD chases off both men.
