Guest JMA Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Anyone else think Kane is in need of a gimmick change? Maybe he should become the next Mr. Wrestling. It could be great if played right.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Yes, he needs a gimmick change. No, he shouldn't be the next Mr. Wrestling.
Guest JMA Report post Posted March 5, 2003 He'd make a good Spoiler.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted March 5, 2003 How 'bout "The Invisible Man"? That way I wouldn't have to see him wrestle.

Guest JMA Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Anyone have any serious ideas on what Kane's new gimmick could be?
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted March 5, 2003 The problem for Kane is that he's pretty much screwed once the mask comes off. I don't really see a problem with the gimmick as is. I mean it's not like he's on tv that much. He'd be good if he had the proper foil for his darker character.

Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted March 5, 2003 And it's a mistake b/c Kane isn't very good looking and is not marketable at all without his mask.

David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Nah, keep Kane as Kane. No gimmick change. We've ALL seen how gimmick changes ruin wrestler's careers, aka "Mr. Un-American" Bret Hart (right before he left WWF)
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted March 5, 2003 We've ALL seen how gimmick changes ruin wrestler's careers, aka "Mr. Un-American" Bret Hart (right before he left WWF) How did that gimmick ruin Bret's career? That was probably the hottest angle he ever got to run with. WCW was what ruined Bret's career.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Kane will be the next Ultimate Warrior The gimmick got stale back in 1999
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Maybe he should become the next Mr. Wrestling That would be false advertising. Maybe as Mr. Crappy Brawler with a Top Rope Lariat and a Chokeslam. And Kane's pretty BUTT-ugly. So I assume they'll make him eat lots of fatty foods and grow horrible back hair, put him in a pair of tiny leather shorts, THEN try to push him to the main event. Guest Rob Edwards Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Kane's in a very poos situation here, as a masked worker he's getting stale but I can't see the fan buying into Kane without a mask which would need a major gimmick change and possibly alienate his new charaver from the (storyline) success of Kane
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Guy has a point, although his example is bad. I still don't think Edge or Christian are as over as they were as a tag team. That goofy surfer dude dynamic they had going before was greatness.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted March 6, 2003 To change his gimmick, they shouldn't just take his mask off. Just take him off tv for a good 6-8 months (or longer depending on how much you want him off tv), and just re-debut him as a different character and never mention Kane again. Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 6, 2003 I think Kane should have a gimmick where he tries to get down to 220 pounds so he can LEGALLY squash the cruiserweight talend on SD and get the title. They could give him the colors of Mexico and call him El Big Ol' Red Machineo.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted March 6, 2003 I think the guy just needs a good storyline. He;s becoming more and more just a "regular guy" type character, he's just tied down with the mask, etc because of his gimmick origin. I believe if given a good reason to be worth a shit, he could. He needs a big program with a good storyline and a true reason to have a fire lit under his ass. He's not so bad in the ring with a good worker, but he has never been given anything worth a damn by the writers.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Kane should of gotten the idoit salvant gimmick that Goldust is using now. Or he could just take the personality of a cartoon character. I want to see Kane as Ultimate Muscle.
Guest JMA Report post Posted March 6, 2003 I just don't think the "burned" brother of the Undertaker is a very good gimmick. I mean, you can basically see his whole face now!
Guest SupaTaft Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Kane as a performer has a lot of potential, but with the WWE cutting down everyone's gimmick until they are just a normal guy with a gimmick name, he's about cooked. Therefore I propose to put him in a solid red unitard, dye his hair bright red, have him run as fast as he can to the ring and market him as Big Red. There is a gimmick with unlimited potential right there. -Taft
