Guest JMA Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Kane as a performer has a lot of potential, but with the WWE cutting down everyone's gimmick until they are just a normal guy with a gimmick name, he's about cooked. Therefore I propose to put him in a solid red unitard, dye his hair bright red, have him run as fast as he can to the ring and market him as Big Red. There is a gimmick with unlimited potential right there. -Taft You might have something there...
Guest Coffey Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 The problem with Kane isn't really his gimmick right now. Kane is the best gimmick that he's had. The problem is how he's been dealt with during his run as Kane. He debuted in a feud against the Undertaker, a legit main-eventer. Add that in with Kane's size and it's obvious that he was above the I.C. level. The problem is, he's not at main event level. So he's kindof floating around in limbo. Even if the I.C. belt came back, Kane would make a bad champ. You can't give him the top belt either, because he would suck there too. He's not really wrestling competant either. He seems to have gotten weaker over the years. Which makes sense if we're talking like 15 years or so.. but I'm just talking about the last two or so. He could hardly press Jericho or RVD. If he does lose the mask, no one will care. Why? Because no one cares about Kane. His career was ruined when he debuted against the Undertaker and lost.
Guest Choken One Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 I wouldn't say his career was ended with Taker...Necrophilla effectivly nailed the coffin shut... At best WWE could just redesign the mask into a Phantom Opera type of deal and THEN have someone take notice of the lack of burns... If you have Kane get mocked brutally and have get AMBUSHED and he goes away for about oh about 8 weeks at the least...He comes back with this new mask... and he simply gets into pyschological mind fit and reveals he had his face surgically repaired...
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Kane's been a great gimmick for the guy. But that gimmick has been, like everything else in WWe, completely blown. The whole necrophilia storyline totally destroyed his established character and the new, goofy Kane just isn't interesting. Stick a fork in him.
Guest mach7 Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Anyone have any serious ideas on what Kane's new gimmick could be? Yeah, I do. How about "That Guy Who Got Fired Last Week" - That'd be the PERFECT gimmick for Kane because then we'd never have to see his sorry ass again! ;p
Guest humongous2002 Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 As long as they keep Kane far away from RVD, the WWF/E could put a jockstap on his face and call him Super Aldo Montoya.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 The problem for Kane is that he's pretty much screwed once the mask comes off. Michael Jackson Issac Yankhem D. D. S. Kevin Nash Version 2.0 (Ripoff of Mattitude) (Actually an upgraded verson of Nash) Freddy Krueger Jason Voorhees
Guest notJames Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Without the mask, he looks like Abraham Benrubi, who played Larry Kubiak in Parker Lewis Can't Lewis, and then went on to play Jerry Markovic in ER. Or that one retarded henchman in Eddie Murphy's The Golden Child, the one that got hypnotized by the bald kid to help out the good guys. Not exactly Clark Gable, that's for sure. I say keep the mask on him and keep him firmly entrenched in the lower mid-card tag ranks. That's all he's good for at this point. But for fuck's sake, get RVD away from him.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Benrubi was also in an X-Files episode (the garbage monster one, where Scully & Mulder are undercover using the names Rob & Laura Petrie)
Guest humongous2002 Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Kane Kubiak.mmmm. I smell the ratings.
Guest Brian Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Parker Lewis reference? This thread can't lose.
Guest JMA Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Freddy Krueger Jason Voorhees They already tried those gimmicks in Memphis. The horror...
