Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 6, 2003 The man who defied expectations and managed to keep his job for 2 and a half years finally got the ax this week. Even though I think Doanld Sterling is at fault here, AG simply had no set plays that the Clips could consistently execute. They blew 20 4th quarter leads this year and if they would have been able to execute for half of those games, then they would still be on the playoff hunt. Instead, Sterling will probably hide his wallet AGAIN this summer and next year we'll have a starting line up of: Wang Ely Fowlkes Pike Dooling Damn you Sterling, you tight motherfucker! Guest kingkamala Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Just whenever I think the Clippers are finally making an improvement, they fuck it up again. Bad thing cause the Clippers are currently a pretty fun team to watch. They don't win, but I'm sure as hell entertained by those guys.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Sterling needs to shell out some cash. I also think they need a name change because everyone knows that Clippers is synonimous with LOSERS.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 6, 2003 How is the Clippers pathetic season the fault of Donold Sterling. They have the talent this year to be a playoff team. Next off season when the Clippers don't sign any player go ahead and blame Sterling, but this year the players, and to a lesser extent Alvin Gentry are at fault. Check out Page2 on Espn.com. The Clippers win the 2004 Championship.

The Clippers win the 2004 Championship. It's Sterling's fault because he keeps such a aura of patheticness on that team that it doesn't matter what new players they get, the loser stigma will rub off on them and because every player on the team knows that Sterling isn't going to re-sign them next year, they're all more interested in padding their own stats to improve their free agent value, thus hurting the team. There is no stability on that team, player wise or coaching wise, you can't build a winning team when you never have the same team from year to year. The only thing stable in that organization is that you know year in and year out that Elgin Baylor is gonna be sitting there watching lottery pick cards turn over. You put an owner with a winning attitude like Cuban or the Maloofs, keep all the same personal, and there's no doubt they'd be in the middle of the playoff pack right now. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Lethargic is 100% correct. All Sterling had to do was sign 1 free agent last season like Elton Brand and that would have shown the rest of the team that he was interested in building on the future. Instead, he passed up on extending the contracts to Kandi, Pike, Magette, Odom, Brand, Miller, etc...Instead, the players are forced to look out for themselves since they are all playing for a contract. FU Sterling!
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Having a bad owner is no excuse for a team with talent to underachieve like the Clippers have. Instead of playing for themselves, try playing has a team. By the way this is not in defense of Sterling who's a horrible owner, but more criticism on the part of the players. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Its all about the foundation. It does not matter if you build a state of the art skyrise on toxic land, its still not going to be very successful.

I'm sure Elton Brand will not be a Clippers this time next year, nor will Lamar Odom, who has said that he would like to play for the Knicks. Other teams will be interested, if he can stay healthy. And Q-Rich refuses to play at the level we know he can because he's still sour about his buddy being in Cleveland.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted March 7, 2003 I saw a report the other day on ESPN that the Clippers are saying they're not even going to resign Eric Piatkowski. You know it's a sad day in L.A. when even Eric Piatkowski is gone.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 7, 2003 Who all are FAs? Odom, the Kandi man, Elton, Miller, and Richardson? Someone asked me the other day who I think will be back and I said none. Seriously if one of those guys is back in a Clippers uniform next season I would be surprised. Maybe Pooh Richardson, Danny Manning, and Ron Harper can all make comebacks. You know it's a sad day in L.A. when even Eric Piatkowski is gone. Wow. I can't imagine a Piatkowski-less Clipper team. It's simply unfathomable. Hope he finds a place where he can win after all the years he's suffered through with the Clips.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 7, 2003 In defense of Coach Gentry and the players, I heard on a talk radio show last night that the Clippers top 10 players have played together a total of 1 game this season. They franchise is jinxed and the injury bug that every team goes through was an epidemic for the Clips.
