How exactly are the titles going to work?

Now Linda McMahon said that the Women's champion and the Men's champion will be on both shows.

But what about the rest of the champions? Like RVD, B&C, Tajiri, Maven, and DDP?

Will they be on both shows or will they get drafted to?

Will they create new titles?

McMahon: I pick RVD! HAHAHA! The IC title is mine!

Flair: I pick Maven! The Hardcore title is...no wait I changed my mind!

 

And how exactly are they going to build title feuds with 2 seperate company's?

HHH: After that career ending injury that Rock almost gave me on SD! I'm here on Raw to fight you Jericho! And I will remain the Game!

 

I just don't get how some of this is going to work.

My guess on the whole champion fighting both is HHH will be on one show/crew for a month and build up a ppv title defense against the "top-ranked" person from that division.

The secondary main event could be the battle of the 2 top contenders from the other division, to get the next Unified title shot

Then HHH ,or whoever, will then be on the other show for a month.

It would rotate every month (barring exceptions like the Rumble -Wrestlemania).

Its just a guess but I think that is how they will go.

I think they will even split the secondary titles, but we'll have to wait to find out as there is no "official" word.

I'd wait. Most likely they'll end up splitting titles and go back to the US title. I think they'll even end up splitting the World title. The downside of that is they may hurry it and do it next Monday with Steph and Jericho as your champs. Ugh!!!!

I didn't say that. If the Tag Champs don't appear on both shows, then give Flairs group the U.S. Tag Titles, instead of having 2 World Tag titles. Then again the tag division is weak, so it would probably be better to have the tag champs appear on both shows.

I'm expecting these as RAW matches so that the WWF can do something with the titles:

 

X-Pac vs. Tajiri (unification) - I think X-Pac should drop it and just ignore he evr held the title, if he still admits to having the title. If not, they should have defense just to kick start the division.

 

HHH vs. Jericho vs. Steph - I'm expecting a chain of events starting at this match that splits the unified title and turns HHH heel. Most likely Jericho pins Steph after hitting a lionsault, causing Steph to get mad at Jericho and HHH to cry foul.

 

Billy and Chuck vs. Dudleys -  With the Dudleys now a face team, a dusty finish here would split the tag titles.

 

Draft will probably be the second to last thing on the card. The thing to do is have Jericho at the end of the show having won the match, and Ross questioning whether Jericho actually won. For the WWF to actually do that, they'll probably go out and have Jericho get pinned twice by Triple H without a ref count. Unfortuanet, but probable. I guess they split with a world champ on each side, tag champs, Euro or Intercontinental, light-heavyweight or hardcore, and women's on Vince's side. I don't know if there's a whole lot of depth in the tag division. They should use SmackDown to play upon the wildcard guys, who may not be ready to go, but are hungry and waiting; Benoit, Rhyno, etc. They also could have used another new person with as much impact as Lesnar. Definately need to go out and sign someone who can wrestle in the heavyweight division, with experience, storng mic skills, and the baility to go in the ring for Flair's division so Flair makes a high impact signing, one-upping Vince by signing someone for his first show. I'd say Eddie. I'd also pick up Mysterio and Juventud for the light-heavyweight division, as a hot feud with Tajiri could jump-start it and appeal to former WCW fans.

So the pay per views are going to feature talent from both factions, then?  How's that going to work?  You'll have tons of feuds with no blowoff--or at least no blowoff on PPV.  I think it'd make more sense to alternate pay per views between each company, which would give feuds more time to build and generate heat.  I'm glad to see that they've seemingly abandoned the idea of going with two PPVs each month, as that would place an enormous financial burden on the fans.  I, for one, ain't spending $70 a month of wrestling.  As far as the titles go, each faction should have its own top champion.  The Undisputed champ doing both shows just doesn't make any sense.  And what happens when Triple H loses the titles?  Where does he go?  Other than that, each group should have tag champs and either the Euro or the Intercontinental title.  The Cruiserweight title should go to whichever show is more cruiserweight-intensive.

When the champ loses the bels you build up a bidding war between Flair and Vince to sign them. Have the former champ appear on both for another few weeks than make his decision on Heat or Excess to try and get people to tune in.

 

I liked the idea of alternating PPV's. It would give a good amount of time to build up to make them mean something.

From what I've read elsewhere, the plan is to give each "brand" eight ppvs each, with the major 4 being the ones where they can intermingle. So you'd get 2 each month, except for (and I could be wrong about this) SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and WM. That's a whole lot of ducats to shell out each month, huh?

 

And if they really wanted the two brands to be seen as separate entities, they'd split the World Titles as well. But hey, no sense working ourselves into a frenzy over it until we actually see it play itself out. Besides, we need to save our anxiety for the whole "Steph could be the Unified Champ" fooferaw going on in the other threads. Hey, if anything, they're getting people to talk about it. Not in a good way of course, but you know what they say about bad publicity...
