Im back with a question..

Im having a bit of troubles in my life. Mainly personaly issues about how much my life sucks and how I dont enjoy myself too much. Im 18 and havent done anything fun for a long long time. And Im about to explode. I need to do something to get my mind off of everything bad thats going on in my life right now and just get away from everything. Hockey season is coming to an end in about a month from now and hockey is my favorite sport. The Dallas Stars are my favorite team. The Dallas Stars have their last home game on April 6th against the Predators. A Sunday. So what better way to get away from everything and have some fun and see the Stars take on Nashville in what I predict will be a win for Dallas in their last home game. Now traveling to Dallas will require a long trip for me. Now I have two options open for me. Drive there myself or fly. Now I looked at a map and if I was to drive there it would be a 1050 mile trip just about. So add in some gas money and maybe a hotel if I get tired. Its gonna be about a 16 hour drive. Im not too good at estimating a price. But now if I was to fly, I would be looking at plane tickets which would be a hell of a lot of money. The a taxi to get me to and from the arena and hotel and airport multiple times. My original plan was to drive there and make it a little more exciting. I think it adds more to the whole trip if I drove there. And add the fact that my parents wont have a clue about this trip. Now I do live alone. I no longer live with my parents but I do live a short half hour from them. So a good story will have to be made up for my absense for a couple of days. Just neeed some advice on road trips from people who have done something like this by themselves and what you reccommend on doing and not doing and tips for the road and what not. Thanks guys.

Your right, driving will add more excitment to the trip than flying. And flying will rack in more money than driving what with all the taxi fares and what not. And gas always is cheaper in real small towns so you can just fill up a couple of extra tanks and keep them in the trunk untill needed. That will save you a few extra dollars.
