California Dreams Is BACK~!

So last night, I'm talking to the g/f, and her suitemates remind her to tell me something they found out while flipping through the channels...California Dreams was on. I thought they were pulling my leg, but they swore up and down that it was really on. Now, my g/f goes to school about an hour and a half away, and her cable system is obviously different from mine. So I run to Yahoo TV, and what do I find out? California Dreams IS back in syndication, apparently taking the spot of City Guys reruns! It looks to be a rotating schedule, where City Guys is on one week, and Dreams is on the next. I know there's a few other fans of the teen shows here, so this is a heads up for anyone who liked Dreams...check your local listings (or just go to Yahoo TV like I do) and see if it's on in your area.

 

And yes, you best believe I've started a new taping schedule because of this .

Oy vey. The only good thing that ever came out of that show (or any of those teeny-bopper Saturday morning shows) was Kelly Packard. And that's not saying much. But to each, his own. Enjoy.

 

And just to add something somewhat positive to this thread, my sister went to grammar school with the guy that played Sly -- Michael Cade, born Michael Ocello. A quick jaunt to his IMDB page shows that he was born in 1973, which is improbable, because my sister was born in '70 and I was born in '72, which would make him even younger than me. It's possible that he was skipped three whole grades, but I kinda doubt it, since he came off as such a dumbass when I knew him.

My experience with imdb is that, while generally very informative, it can sometimes be wildly inaccurate, and this might be one of those times.

It's on my local FOX affiliate, at 6:30 every morning. It appears that it's in some type of combination timeslot with City Guys, another Engel show. So if you have a local affiliate showing City Guys, odds are they now also have the rights to air Dreams again. The way it is done in my area is that City Guys eps air one week, Dreams eps air the next, and so on.

 

notJames, I remember you posting that about Michael Cade in one of the older SBTB threads. I think you said he was also a known asshole too, which somehow wouldn't surprise me.

And yes, he was a little turdburger. Shorter than most of the kids in his own class, so he over-compensated by being very cocky and picking on the underclassmen.

 

Not that I was one of them, of course…

Too bad it wasn't during his days of stardom. I would have nailed him with a right hook, and yelled "BABOOM!" for sarcastic effect.

 

He was a cool character on the show though.

I see. I don't remember any affiliates showing City Guys, but since I'm on central time it may be on earlier than I'd care to get up. I guess I'll stick with my diet of Win Ben Stein's Money/Beat The Geeks on Comedy Central and Power Rangers Vile Force (why do I torture myself by watching this?)/Best of Power Rangers on ABC Family...
