Wwf fantasy draft

Since I like being Mel Kiper, and get into Fantasy NFL Drafts every year, I thought it would be fun to see who I would pick in a Fantasy WWF Draft.  Pretend you're Flair or McMahon.  Well, here would be my top 14 to choose.

1.  Kurt Angle-  No glaring weaknesses.  He has all the tools, great wrestler, great on the mic, great locker room leader, and has credibility around the world.  You can showcase Angle as your top player, immediately.  Plus, you will have at least 5 more solid years from Angle.

2.  Rock-  Arguably the best wrestler to choose right now.  Has insane popularity.  Has the best mic skills, and has good wrestling skills, and also solid amongst his peers.  Rock probably has another 5-8 solid years in the business, but the major downer on Rock, is that he can leave at any time.  Drafting Rock would be like drafting Deion Sanders... Deion could leave for baseball at any time, and you're screwed.  Same with Rock and his movie career.

3-  Rob Van Dam-  The guy who has been steadily rising up the Draft board.  Has proved himself well in the Minor Leagues for many years, and has gained an insane amount of popularity for his short time in the Majors.  Has good wrestling ability, albeit much different from his co-workers, which can bring dissention.  Mic skills leave something to be desired.  Rob can give you another solid 5 years in the business though, and the anemic rise and potential he has, he's worth the risk.

4.  Christian-  I would compare Christian as drafting some player a good player from a tiny college that gets little publicity.  Christian has no major weaknesses.  He has a limited moveset, but has proven he can put on great matches if given the chance.  Has great mic skills.  Lacks a bit in size, but HHH's needle can cure that.  The main problem is that Christian has not been given a truly good chance to showcase his talents.  Has worked well in the tag division, but has always been made to look like a goof.  With the right preparation, Christian can be your star player.

5.  Steve Austin-  The solid veteran to lead your team.  Has insane popularity, good mic skills, and can put on great matches.  Major downside is, he only has a short time left in your business.  Austin would be a good player to start your team off with, and prepare the upcoming talent to take his place.  Problem is, he may not be willing to do that.  But still, Austin is the best out there for the short term.

6.  Chris Jericho-  A solid team player.  Jericho may not be your top star, but you will always have a good #2 or #3 heel with Jericho.  Good in the ring, but can be sloppy at times.  Great on the mic, if you use him the right way.  You will get at least another 5-10 years from Jericho, but the downside is that Jericho has proven he cannot be your big star.

7.  Lance Storm-  I compare Storm as a player who wows everyone in the NFL Combine, but when he has to perform, he fails.  He has good to great wrestling ability, has the size and has good charisma and personality outside of the business.   Problem is, Storm loses all personality when he gets on TV.  With this, you cannot showcase at all, if people don't care about him.  But, you can see the potential with Storm as a main-eventer, if you can only bring it out for showtime.

8.  HHH-  A proven star who has been given many chances.  But does he deserve all those chances?  HHH is good in the ring, but with a limited moveset, average at best on the mic but can be boring quite often.   Major knee injury is cause for concern, but if he recovers, has another 5-10 years in the business.  Again, a proven star, but maybe not deservedly so when you look at the other players in the draft.

9.  Scott Taylor-  A guy who has the personality, and gets the pops, but has never been given a serious chance.  Is a solid wrestler, when not made to wrestle like a jackass.  Mic skills not really tested.  Also rather small.  Taylor would be a risky pick, but he has the upside of having good crowd support, and being a solid wrestler when given the chance.

10.  Booker T-  A good veteran for your team.  A good wrestler, with good mic skills, although in a goofy way.  Can work well both as heel and face, and is a versatile performer.  Booker is also a great team player, and will do anything for your company.  Major weaknesses are he's rather old, and can maybe give you a few years more at best, and he doesn't have that major attribute that can solidify him as your top star.

11.  Edge-  Former partner of Christian.  Has been given more of a chance to showcase his skills, and the fans like him more.  Problem is, he doesn't have all the skills of his former partner.  A solid wrestler, again with somewhat of a limited moveset.  Mic skills are average, and he struggles at getting himself much of a character the fans can get used to.  He's a young star that gives you maybe another 10 years in the business, but it's very questionable if Edge can be one of your top players, as he's shown the past year or so that he just might not have it, where as Christian has never really been given the opportunity.

12.  Chris Benoit-  Arguably the best wrestler out there, but zero personality.  Very risky pick, as the fans respect for good wrestling has been dwindling.  Benoit is also rather old, and maybe has another 3-5 years most in the business, also coming back from a major injury.

13.  Stacy Keibler-  Obvious reasons.  Tease her being naked for a few PPV's, as it would equal huge buyrate.  When you deliver Stacy's good, there would be the biggest collective orgasm by males of all-time.  Much publicity.

14.  Billy Gunn-  I compare Billy to Rob Johnson.  Has the look, but is dumb as nails, and sucks in every way.  Billy would be drafted by a dumbass team like the Bills.

I would guess that the draft would be either teh 1st or last segment on Raw.  Leaving the rest of the show for Hogan, Rock, nWo, and HHH and Steph.

My top picks would be:

1. Rock

2. Austin

3. Angle

4. RVD

5. Booker

6. Jericho

7. HHH

8. Hogan

9. Edge

10. Storm

Benoit is still injured so he isn't on my list, if he were active right now he would be #5

From what I understand the roster is being split into two, with Flair's talent appearing on Raw and Vince's on Smackdown.  I would assume that since most talents are only able to appear on their designated shows, they will have to feud with people on their rosters.

I Would Probably Pick

1. Angle (In my opionion The Best Wrestler in world today)

2. Jericho (The First Ever Undispute Champion and he gets pretty good heat from the crowds and he has 5 years left in wrestling)

3. Stone Cold (Maybe Steve doesnt have as long left as Kurt or jericho but he is the number one Draw rate the company has ever seen)

4. Rob Van Dam (RVD is rising to the top of the WWF. Current Intercontinetal Champion. RVD has at least 5 years left and has tremendous Charisma.)

5. Hulk Hogan (Ok i now his wrestling is shit and he only has a maximim of 2 years left But he is a wrestling icon)

6. The Rock (Simply for Draw Rate i dont like the guy but he is very popular)

Note i Chris Beniot if He was back would take positon 5

I say they do the big guns on RAW, and the lower-level guys the Heat after.  They start off with the draft, and could do a matches every so often to break the monotony.  Plus it'll be cool to hear Vince or Flair to mention Funaki for what I believe will be the first time.
