Your Favorite Simpsons Moment

Recommended Posts

Guest Michael Joel Benoit

What is your favorite all-time Simpsons moment? Not an entire episode, but a specific quote, or a certain scene that is your all-time favorite of the Simpsons. The one that still makes you laugh all these years later. The one that you chuckle when you think of it. It can be from any episode so any quote or scene counts.

For me, my favorite Simpsons moment, was during the episode when Homer didn't go to Church. He fell asleep and his house began to burn. Flanders came to rescue him and my favorite moment, prayed to God for Homer to land safely on the matress he placed outside. But, when he dropped Homer, Homer bounced back into the house. Then even funnier, Flanders did an Olympic somersault into the bed and back into the house. That, part is my all-time favorite. The one I always laugh at. Just their facial expressions, and Flanders saying with a sigh, "Okay" after Homer goes back into the house. The fact that he could do that somersault is the icing on the cake.

So that's my all-time favorite Simpsons moment. What quote or scene still makes you laugh to this day?

Various songs they sang throughout the show. Monorail song. Who needs the Kwik-E mart. Burlesque Parlor song. etc......

Also the sequence that takes place after Homer smokes his medicinal marijuana is pretty hilarious.

'ALRIGHT, BACK TO WINNIPEG!'

Sadly, that's always cut out of the episode in syndication.

When Lisa seeks Smithers for help in contacting the inventor of Malibu Stacey, Smithers gets the information from his home computer. When he turns the computer on, the computer screen shows a nude Burns that utters in broken English: "Hello, Smithers. You're quite good at turning me on."

The one scene I love that always gets cut out of syndication is the end of the Hungry Homer episode involving the Mayor of Alberquque.

Everytime I'm driving late at night and it's foggy, I sing "I guess I forgot to put the foglights in." That quote has stayed with me.

One of my favorite moments is during the first season. It was the episode where the Simpsons go camping. Bart and Homer end up getting lost and losing all of their clothes. So Homer makes a trap for an animal, and when a rabbit walks onto the trap, the trap ends up launching the bunny into the air. That scene still has me rolling.

I have two that always make me laugh for some reason:

"Doh!"

"A deer!"

"A female deer!"

I think that's from the ep with Stampy the elephant?

and the Wizard of Oz Winged Monkey homage from the "Homer Loves Mindy"(?) episode. Sadly that's cut out of the syndie versions.

"Hellooo, my name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have a letter for me."

"Okay, what's your first name Mr. Burns."

"I... don't... knooooow"

That's the Simpsons moment that always comes to mind whenever I think of the show or whenever I just need a good laugh.

Favourite song moment:

When I was seventeen

I drank some very good beer

I drank some very good beer

I purchased with a fake I.D.

My name was Brian McGee

I stayed up listening to Queen

When I was seventeen…

Favourite single word: Milpool

Favourite Ralphism: "Me fail English? That's unpossible."

Runner-up: "It tastes like… burning!"

Favourite non-recurring character moment: From The PTA Disbands, the little girl hanging from the gymnastic rings after the teachers go on strike says "Hellloooooooo… Mrs. Pommelhorse… I'd like to get down now…"

(Incidentally, the scene after that always get ths syndication axe. Mr. Largo leaves his music class, then the dark-haired nerd Databse says, "Now we can play the forbidden music", which turns out to be a surprisingly good rendition of "Pop Goes the Weasel".)

I love the pool episode. Another great line of:

"Tis a fine barn, but is no pool, English"

Hmmm....I forgot the main story...but it had something to do with Homer losing potential money...and they cut to a scene in the basement and you see the silhoulette of Homer just hanging from the ceiling.....

but he was really changing a lightbulb.

That had me dying laughing.....anyone know what episode that was...fill me in!

That was the ep when Mr. Burns stole 25 puppies to from The Simpsons to make a greyhound suit only to be foiled by Bart and Lisa. Burns then made them track dogs where they won millions of dollars which became Homer's losing potential money. The episode also had my favorite Simpsons musical "See My Vest".

It's a hard choice, but first favorite moment off the top of my head: Hans asks Mr Burns, whose high on ether, for money."Why it's that delightful TV leprechaun. I'm gonna get your Lucky Charms." When Mr. Burns busted out the drill, I just busted up laughing. Too bad this gets cut out alot during syndication.

Favorite quote with no reason in particular: Japanese Chef at sushi bar cutting blowfish for Homer: "Poison...poison...Ah! Tasty fish!"

From the Cape Feare episode:

Agent: Tell you what, sir. From now on, you'll be, uh, Homer Thompson

at Terror Lake. Let's just practise a bit, hmm? When I say,

"Hello, Mr. Thompson," you'll say, "Hi."

Homer: Check.

Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson.

Homer: [stares blankly]

Agent: Remember now, your name is Homer Thompson.

Homer: I gotcha.

Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson.

Homer: [stares blankly]

[A long time later]

Agent: [sighs in frustration] Now, when I say, "Hello, Mr. Thompson,"

and press down on your foot, you smile and nod.

Homer: No problem.

Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson! [stomps on Homer's foot a few times]

Homer: [stares blankly]

[to other agent] I think he's talking to _you_.

"Dental plan!"

"Lisa needs braces."

Homer: Cartoons are great because you don't have to pay the actors squat!

Flanders with different voice: And you can change them around and no one can tell the diddly-ifference!

Smithers - "Lenny, you're with..." *checks slip* "...Carl."

Carl - "Aww nuts."

*Lenny looks hurt*

Carl - "I mean...aww nuts."

Lenny - "Wow, we made it to the top of the mountain. All thanks to teamwork."

Carl - "Yeah, *my* teamwork."

The first one that really blew my mind was the 40-odd seconds of Sideshow Bob stepping on rakes from the Cape Fear episode. Oh, precious.

One of the funniest moment's for me what the film festival episode.

Barney's Movie has just ended and there is a woman in the audience crying about the movie, and Barney talks to her:

Woman: "Did something crawl down you're throat and die?"

Barney: "It didn't die..."

"We start with 16 pounds of ground beef, then we top it with cheese, bacon, pineapple and a fried egg. We call it The Good Morning Burger"

Hahaha, I just love that line, the voice-over chick on the add cracks me up.

"Ohhhh, if only I had my reaching broom"

Can be used so often in everyday life. Comedy gold every time. Never gets old.

One of the best episodes for quotes is King-Size Homer.

Bart: "I wash myself with a rag on a stick"

--

Homer: "Hee hee hee. I pity those poor suckers on the freeway. Gas break honk. Gas break honk. Honk honk punch. Gas gas gas."

--

Burns: "Push out the jive… bring in the love…"

--

Dr. Nick: "And remember, if you're not sure about something, rub it against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it's your window to weight gain."

--

Operator: "The fingers you have used to dial are too fat. To obtain a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad with your palm now."

--

Bart: "And I think it's ironic that for once Dad's BUTT prevented the release of toxic gas…"

Homer: You see son the trick of getting out of jury duty, is to say your racist against everybody.
