Heyman asked Stephanie to step down

Recommended Posts

Guest GameCop

Credit PWTORCH NEWSLETTER: Apparently before being demoted, Paul Heyman encouraged Eddie Guerrero to argue to management regarding a script he was given (for an interview/promo). Moreover, he gave a long speech that was intended to compel Stephanie McMahon to renounce her position as head of the creative team by citing a "conflict of interest" because of her engagement to Triple H.

Interesting, huh?

Poor Heyman. He says what everyone is thinking, and gets demoted for it. How could any rational person see her engagement to the talent as aconflict of interest?

"I'm not the leak."

Courtesy of the smallest man with the biggest mouth in wrestling, wearing the orange in the corner. How long before we find out that Heyman's been writing "the majority" RAW lately, seeing as how the ratings are up.

She will never step down, can you seriously see Steph doing anything else with her life. If her dad was not Vince she would just be an overweight waitress at a truck stop.

I applaud him but at the same time wonder if it was only so that he could assume more booking power.

Yes, because Heyman sure did stand up about the big show. And about Al Wilson. And about the Gay Wedding. And about booking Angle as a pussy.

Heyman does have balls but not as big of a set as Russo. No way russo would except Steph being in charge of his ideas and changing them. He actually left instead of playing second fiddle to steph. Just think if he would have stayed on as a consultant who would be the new head writer for smackdown

That's why I said eventually. He's too combatative to keep putting up with shit like that.

I doubt he did it all. The only thing it seems he did for SmackDown was build up Brock to try and keep his job.

Company politics is a fact of life in the real world. You just have to choose your battles. Heyman in the company with a small role is better than no Heyman at all.

Yes, because Heyman at the centerpiece of every main event angle on SmackDown of the past seven months is such a small roll.

What's with the omni-present Heyman hate from you? He's like your HHH.

Anyway, those are hardly comparable to this--those are just one-time angles, or in the case of Angle being a pussy, a character development point. The conflict of interest is something that is permanent, and will affect the promotion for decades. I doubt Heyman would've cared enough about Al Wilson or HLA or the B+C or even how good Angle looks to risk anything over them. But the whole Steph-HHH thing probably pisses him off to no end, just the rest of us. And while they've been together a long while, the WWE's excuse was always that they weren't serious; so anyone complaining about it has a lot more to stand on now than before (even though I'd say the situation was just as bad then).

As for Heyman's own self-interest in this, no doubt he'd be happy if Steph's stepping down gave him more power. Would he seriously have thought that this would work though? I'm thinking he's probably trying to play the martyr card, which can give him more influence down the road. It's very risky however, and I don't see it working.

Why didn't Heyman take himself out of the booking team when he ended up in the top angles for the last seven/eight months on SmackDown.

I think for all the praise he gets there needs to be a voice of reason around here.

Just for putting out a product you don't like?

Isn't that a bit harsh?

What a spineless shit Heyman is, getting Eddie to put his neck on the line just for the sake of Heyman's own political games. Load of crap too, seeing as it was Heyman's inability to book the tag feud properly that left the Guerreros nowhere to go once they actually won the belts. And Brian is right, how is Heyman being a writer and mysteriously being the most important main event factor for the best part of a year not "a conflict of interest." I swear, Heyman defenders are just being blind when it comes to the man and his booking. If you don't see massive flaws in his position and product within the company you're just fooling yourself.

You're right Hamburgular. Why should he ask Eddy, a guy who got rehired less then a year ago, to go argue with management?

All Heyman did was book the Smackdown 6 in matches each week and when he ran out of that he just resorted to making himself the centrepiece of the product

Does Heyman supply these websites with inside info? Because this story is about him, it's very detailed, and it potrays him as the "good guy".

Intelligent input.

Heyman has some good ideas, and he has some common interests as a lot of people on this board, but he's no saint. People bitched and bitched about Steph or any McMahon being the centerpiece of a show while also having creative power because they would push their pet projects. Heyman does exactly the same, and just because most of you like his projects better, didn't make what he did any better than The McMahons.

Tazz, as an announcer, sits in on the storyboarding and gets what angles to sell and a basic feed of what's going on as well as input on the script. The biggest mouth on the smallest wrestler in orange.

The WWE leaks out Ross on purpose. Just like the Report, only more "insider".

If Paul went to Steph herself about it, that'd be well and good...

Instead, he wants Eddy to bitch about it to her?!

"Paul's a Pussy!! *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap*"

I wonder if the segment they were talking about was the Los Guerreros mini-sitcom.

Tazz took a big leak? WhatwhatWHAAAAT?

EDIT: My bad, homeys. I read that over again and I realize that he meant Tazz didn't take a "big leak" (crass!), but that he is a big leak. That's pretty rude, and it got me to thinking that some of us need to do a little more growing up!

Wait, you guys misread it.

He sent Eddy in to argue about a script they told him to read for a promo.

HEYMAN went in and made the speech about Steph.

Or that's what it looks like it is.

Well, I commend him in trying to put his foot down but he went about it in a totally wrong way. Oh well.
