Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 7, 2003 Any of you Yanks read any of Matthew Reilly's stuff?? He's a mad, young, Aussie action/blockbuster writer. His new book is due out in August and is the 3rd in what has so far been an unreal series. He's also written two other really good books, one of which, Temple, is one of the best I've read. Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 8, 2003 He writes a kinda Action/Blockbuster style of story. His books conjure full on hight budget blockbuster films in your mind. Awesome stuff. I know for a fact he is on release in the US. Go find Temple, Ice Station & Area 7. All mad stuff. Failing that, find Contest, it's not his best stuff, but he wrote it when he was 17, so I'll pay it. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 8, 2003 I've read Temple, and yeah, it did come off like a big-budget brain-dead action movie, but I mean that as a complement, the guy is fairly amazing at constructing ridiculously carnographic action scenes and really twisted "how the fuck do we get out of THIS?!" scenerios.
